The Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River is heavy on scenery, with some fun rapids (depending on the water level/time of year). This is an area where many motion pictures and commercials have been filmed over the years. John Wayne and John Ford filmed a lot of old westerns in this area. Most recently filmed in this area was The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp & Armie Hammer (2013).

The Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River is HEAVY ON SCENERY, WITH SOME FUN SMALL RAPIDS (depending on the water level/time of year). This is an area where many motion pictures and commercials have been filmed over the years. John Wayne and John Ford filmed a lot of old westerns in this area. Most recently filmed in this area was The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp & Armie Hammer (2013). This is a calm water trip, with small rapids, class 1 & 2. Depending on water levels there is the chance for a class 3 rapid on this section. The rafts are set up where the guide will be doing all the rowing. Paddleboats (where everyone paddles) are an option upon request (24-hour advance notice required).

A Great Rafting Trip on the Colorado River

5.00What a great time! Our guide, Kai (sp?), was fantastic! That lady is truly amazing! The family that was supposed to go, too, canceled as high winds were forecast, so it ended up being just us and Kai. There was some wind, but you would have never known it the way Kai handled that raft! Beautiful scenery, a fun lunch on a beach and lots of laughs, because Kai was so very pleasant, made for a wonderful experience. We highly recommend this company and its tours! Disappointing float trip with inexperienced guide

2.00Disappointing. We were so excited to go whitewater rafting, but our guide didn't know the river at all, resulting in us hitting multiple rocks, getting stuck, and even moving backwards (!!) at one point. This is also NOT whitewater rafting - there were maybe two rapids in the whole excursion (in the biggest one we hit 2 rocks), so it's really a float trip. Combining that slow pace with someone not strong enough to row, and not having knowledge of the river, made the trip boring and awkward. At one point, when we were stuck, our guide mentioned that other tour companies give the passengers paddles so they can move faster. I wish we had gone with one of those tour companies! Definitely choose another option.

4.00My family of 5 (3 teenagers) had a blast. The water was a bit low which made this pretty "tame" but that's how it goes in August. If you want a bit more try June. Liam (our guide) was great and it was a perfect way to take a break from all of the hiking in the area. The half day was plenty but that may have changed if it was a bit faster/more exciting.

5.00If there were more stars to give, I would. The owner, Mike, was the best. When I first called to make our reservation Mike was very informative and helpful. On the day of our trip everything was so easy going, and the trip down the river with our guide Liam was fantastic. I highly recommend this company. Truly a great experience. Thanks Mike and all the Adrift staff for making our Moab vacation a memorable one!

5.00We have done this short, beautiful trip several times and it is always fun. This time we had a great river guide named Claire. She was fun, friendly and full of great stories. She helped fellow boaters feel like friends, steered us through rapids with ease and made us all laugh. She deserves the praise and a raise for a job well done. Thank you, Claire and Adrift adventures for another great Moab experience!
