Adventurous way to see Antibes and St Paul de Vence

5.00Our guide, Samuel, was very flexible - giving us options on what to see, what to eat, and where we wanted to stop to sightsee. We saw so many things! The cathedral in Antibes, old Antibes, the lighthouse, Fort Carre, a fabulous market where we.bought pan bagnat sandwiches and fruit and spices to take home, marinas and grand yachts, and a national park with a bird sanctuary. The highlight was St. Paul de Vence. The bike up there was very steep but the e-bikes made it doable. The bikes were very comfortable and easy to use.
Beautiful views. Give it time.

4.00We started a bit late and ran short on time (not our fault). So while we wanted to go to St Paul de Vence we simply did not have the time. That said the tour was beautiful. We rode thru parks, along spectacular vistas by the sea, stopped at the most charming market in old town for sandwiches and ate at a bench in a beautiful village outside St Paul. We loved the experience. We would have skipped the tower (since it wasn’t open and we couldn’t see the 360 degree views) and the modern harbor (nothing really to see there). I would request a tour to St. Paul de vence with at least an hour to wander the town before heading back. As it was we had to hop a train back to make it on time. All in all, a great way to spend 4 1/2 hrs. I would recommmend the tour with clear caveats.

5.00Good mix between movement and information with a very sympathetic and local guide. Very varied program: Architecture, nature and history. Beautiful scenery.

5.00We had a delightful day with our guide Samuel and another couple. The tour was as described and the e-bikes were in good condition. While not as powerful as others we have rented, they were adequate at full power for climbing. Samuel spoke excellent English, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The two highlights for us were the excellent picnic lunch and visiting Saint-Paul-de-Vence. We started our day in Nice and had no difficulty getting to the tour starting point in Antibes via the TER (ZOU! train) from Nice-Ville. We needed 15 minutes to figure out how to buy our return tickets and get through the barrier to the platform. All-in-all we had a wonderful day and would recommend this bike trip for anyone in “sporty” physical condition.

5.00Samuel, was a kind & attentive guide. He went out of his way to tailor the tour to our riding abilities & personal interests. He purchased a lunch of local specialties for us - which we enjoyed. The ride through automobile & pedestrian traffic was a bit nerve racking at times. However, the views of Old Town Antibes & the waterfront were spectacular. The e-bike made the trip doable for our entire family - it wasn’t too strenuous.

5.00Samuel made it very fun for our small group - he checked in with all of us along the way, and took us up and down paths we never would’ve found on our own. It was a little more challenging than we thought when we signed up (28 miles), but if you’re reasonably fit, you can do it and just be pleasantly tired and sore that night. The stop along the river for a picnic with great traditional food from a boulangerie - with the view of the ducks, fish, and greenery - was a highlight. Of course, we enjoyed seeing the lighthouse on the Cape, and the trip up to Saint Paul de Vence. This is a new trip and we appreciated Samuel asking for feedback on both what we loved and what might make it even better. He is a dedicated and gracious host and guide.
