Hidden amongst the spectacular hoodos and mesas of Goblin Valley State Park in Utah lies a truly fantastic canyoneering adventure! This 4-hour adventure is led by an expert guide and is suitable for travelers of all ages.

We will start off hiking and scrambling through the intriguing Valley of the Goblins that was featured in the film Galaxy Quest. Along the way, you will learn about the area’s unique geological, biological, historical, and cultural wonders. Your guide will also provide basic safety information, along with an introduction to the basics canyoneering before entering a beautiful slot canyon that disappears into a dark and mysterious chasm. Here, we’ll put on our canyoneering gear and rappel into the Goblin’s Lair which is also known as the Chamber of the Basilisk due to its resemblance to the interior of a medieval Gothic church. The landscapes are truly breathtaking and out of this world. While rappelling through the canyon, admire the sunbeams shining through to the canyon floor from the natural skylights above. Once inside the Goblin’s Lair, we will enjoy a snack and explore the Lair’s hidden passages in search of the mysterious goblins. Once you’ve toured the Goblin’s Lair, we’ll catch a glimpse of the magnificent open landscape views towards Robbers Roost. This stunning vantage point is bound to impress you while you catch your breath before a quick hike back to the trailhead.

5.00Wow! This was an amazing experience for the whole family! We have never done anything like this and we loved learning to scramble rocks and repel! Our guide Trent was so knowledgeable, incredibly patient, encouraging and safety minded making sure we all had a good time and tried all the things! We climbed in caves, crawled through crevices, repelled 100ft down into the Goblin’s lair and learned how to be true Canyoneers- woohoo! It is a 1.5 hour outside of Moab but worth it! Bring lots of water!!

5.00Fantastic adventure for the family! Trent was an excellent guide who was patient, safety focused, and encouraging! We had a great time learning to scramble rocks and repel 100ft down in the Goblin’s lair- canyoneering at its best! It is a 1.5 hour drive from Moab, but it was worth it! Bring lots of water!

5.00This is an adrenaline rush for sure! Choose not to venture out of the lair through the cave- it’s really tight & has crumbly rocks to hold onto!

5.00We had the most amazing canyoneering experience with Sam in Goblin Valley! He made the entire adventure feel incredibly safe, fun, and memorable for our family. Our boys (11 and 9) had the absolute best time and were smiling the entire day. Sam was patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and great with kids while still making it exciting for the adults too. The scenery was unreal and the whole experience was something we’ll be talking about for a long time. Highly recommend to any family looking for an unforgettable adventure!

5.00This was so much fun! I think it was the best day of my 11 year old's life :) Tyler was so personable and friendly and made sure we felt safe and confident for the repelling. Would definitely do it again!! Goblin Valley is also truly spectacular- no place like it on earth.

5.00Tyler is an excellent safety-focused teacher. I had rappelled before, but the other four people in the group, aged 20 to 72, had zero experience. Tyler showed them the technique on small boulders and gave them the confidence to lean back over the rocks and smoothly rappel 100 feet down to the cavern floor. We spent 12 days exploring Southeastern Utah, and canyoneering in Goblin Valley State Park was the highlight of our trip!
