We begin our tour from Osaka Castle. It’s one of the most iconic spot of great historical significance in Osaka. We’ll traverse the park grounds, too, all the while talking about the history, architecture, and significance of the spot. Historically, the castle’s reconstruction has been somewhat indifferent, and we would recommend considering other options instead. Trust us. We spend about 75 minutes here.

Shitennoji

This was an in depth and behind the scenes tour that can only be experienced with a local who knows and LOVES Osaka! Our tour guide is a native of Osaka and made it his business to impress us and show us the best of his city. We learned and saw so much history on this tour. As an Osaka native, our tour guide even taught us cultural nuances practiced in Osaka. He knew the best places to take photos, the best places to eat, the best sites and even curated our tour to entertain our 2 kids. We are history buffs and asked our guide all sorts of questions pre and post war and got such a detailed and factual lesson from a Japanese perspective. If you want to immerse yourself in Osaka history and life I highly recommend this tour but specifically with Tomoki!!!!!! He loves his city and will go out of his way to show you the best. His goal was to make Osaka our most memorable city in Japan! What an amazing tour.

I joined the tour with my father. Since he has difficulty walking for long periods, the guide kindly adjusted the pace to match his condition. Not only did we learn about Kyoto’s history, but we also gained insight into local traditions, ways of thinking, and the unique spirit of the Japanese people. It was an outstanding tour.

Tomaki and the driver were amazing. They were very flexible and accommodated our wishes. We had 2 people that were struggling and he was very attentive to make sure they were having a lovely time. Best day ever. Thank you both 💓

We made a special request to change our destination and switched to a car tour of Kyoto. We had an elegant and relaxing time and were able to learn about Kyoto’s rich history. Tomoki, our guide, was truly professional with his attentiveness and kindness. If we ever have the chance to travel to Japan again, we will definitely reach out.
