In this wonderful village you will learn from the ancient methods what the community uses to dye their garments and wool mats with natural pigments. You will also learn from their ancestral methods of making their handmade wool textiles and you will know their gallery where they have all their artworks what they make explain step by step every detail of their methods. Also in this town we will visit a workshop of "shell candles" which are made with mother beeswax and talk about their uses and custom of why the making of these candles.
Santa Maria del Tule
The guide will tell you the story of the majestic tule tree that is more than 2000 years old and one of the tallest and widest in the world. As it is the first stop what we did and you did not have time to eat breakfast here the ladies of the village arrive to sell tamales, atoles and tacos of stews you can certainly consume some food before leaving to the next point.

5.00It was a very good trip and the guide was very knowledgeable and organized. I recommend it for anyone who wants to go to these destinations. We had no issues for the whole tour and we even got free mezcal tasting, free bread tasting, and free chocolate tasting.

5.00We did the walk and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Everything was very well organized, but what really made the difference was the coordinator of the ride. Since we were picked up we felt in good hands: the coordinator was punctual, friendly and very helpful. He always kept an eye on everyone being comfortable and explained clearly the itinerary of the day, the ground conditions and the schedules to follow. The tour coordinator took the time to tell us the history of the place, interesting facts of the local environment and culture, and answered all our questions enthusiastically. You rating that he knows the area very well and is passionate about what he does, which made the ride not only beautiful visually, but also culturally enriching. In addition, their friendly and close attitude helped the whole group to connect: it generated a Relaxed Mood where we all felt contemplated and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend this walk mainly because of how the coordinator made everything flow, taking care of the details and making sure we enjoyed every moment. A very worthwhile experience!
