5.00We had a great experience with our walking tour in Hiroshima. Emmy (not sure of the spelling) was great. Very passionate about her country and the devastation that happened with the A bomb. Her grandmother was living in Hiroshima when it happened. She knew her facts and was very good.

5.00Thomas was an excellent guide. We learnt so much and he was a super friendly and kind. The pace was perfect. We also really appreciated Mei’s patience with us. We were having issues with our vacation itinerary and she was so flexible and responsive. I was very annoying I’m sure, but I wasn’t made to feel an inconvenience in any way. Thanks guys. We had a fabulous time.

5.00Kevin gave an excellent tour. He is a living example of the miracle that is Hiroshima. An American who has come to live in Hiroshima (for 10 years) to spread the message of peace. He is very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. An excellent tour which was great value for money which took just over 3 hours (it flew).

5.00A really great tour with Thomas. Great knowledge to explain the history of Hiroshima. Whilst the subject matter is very sensitive, Thomas covered this superbly. There weee also lots of light-hearted moments too.

5.00This was a great tour and lasted longer than expected. Our guide Thomas covered all sorts of facts and information, history from centuries ago as well as the obvious more recent events and more light-hearted facts about the area. It was a nice relaxed pace and offered accessible insight into the area and Japanese culture in general
Don’t Book Without Asking Who Your Guide Is - We Had an Awful Experience

1.00I wish I could’ve given this tour a good review, but it was very bad. Our guide, though sweet, could barely speak English which made it difficult to ask meaningful questions. She didn’t add helpful context to any of the locations and barely connected anything back to the bombing. For example: we would walk by a local gym, she would tell us when it was built, explain that it was destroyed during the bombing, and then ask us individually what sports we play. When it came time for the historical section, it felt like a rushed Japanese propaganda story. A two minute youtube video would have been more informative on the history behind the bombing. We even had to ask “why the bombing happened” after her explanation. We booked this tour because the reviews said it’s a great mix of historical context and thorough explanations - we felt none of that. I believe this tour is entirely dependent on who you have as your guide, and since we didn’t have Kevin or Tommy (who seemed great according to the reviews), this was a waste of time and money. Ask who your guide is. Cancel if it’s not one of those two. We wish we had.

2.00After a 90 minute and $ 300 for 4 people Train Ride From Kyoto to Hiroshima we then took a Tram from the station to Peace Park and spent 90 Minutes trying to find our Meeting place for the Guide. during that 90 minutes we tried to call the only number we had, only for a recorded voice telling us to Email, (we are in Hiroshima Japan ! ) we tried to find someone who might speak English and also read English, No Luck !. We then gave up and left the Park. We headed back to Kyoto as 4 VERY DISSAPOINTED People, who had lost a lot of Money plus a Whole last Day of our Holiday in Beautiful Japan. not Happy and Definitely would not use Tripadvisor again. Maybe Choose a Meeting place that Really stands out. EG The Castle.
