Portland
Board M/V MONHEGAN, a beautifully restored wooden lobster boat, and make yourself at home as you cruise through Portland's Harbor, past wharves dating to the period just after the Revolutionary War. At one point, Portland was one of the busiest harbors in the early decades of the United States, a fact attested to by the incredible stone fortresses protecting the harbor.
Bug Light Park
This is the smallest and first of four lighthouses we will encounter on our cruise through Casco Bay. On windy days, keep an eye out for gatherings of expert kite flyers and their colorful kites. Sometimes there's even a giant purple octopus floating lazily in the breeze! Just around the corner from Bug Light is a statue of the bow of a Liberty Ship. Many ships were constructed here during WWII, including the S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien, which is a popular tourist attraction in San Francisco and one of the only surviving Liberty Ships.

5.00Our party of 4 booked a 2 hour tour with Casco Bay Custom Charters and it was the highlight of our trip. Communication and information provided before the scheduled tour was great. The crew was awesome. Very informative and friendly. The pickup point was easy to find. The boat was spacious and comfortable for our party of 4. We ordered the Charcuterie Board and the Mezze Board, which were both delicious. The boat tour was relaxing and the scenery was lovely. We highly recommend booking a tour with Casco Bay Custom Charters.

1.00I am writing about our Fall Foliage Boat Tour. This tour was rescheduled due to anticipated rain and winds. The day of about an hour prior it was raining, cloudy, and windy. I texted asking if it was raining at the harbor and the response was "no, the tour is still on ". It rained the entire time we were on the boat with zero visibility. Additionally, no other boats were out on the water due to the lack of visibility and poor weather. This was a very subpar experience for over $600. I use Viator for tours all over the country and this was more than disappointing. It would have been better to properly assess the weather and cancel. All of that said, the crew was nice enough, but it was awkward as there was zero to see. I was refused a refund which is disappointing.

5.00Our cruise on the Monhegan was wonderful and so relaxing! The captain and crew were great - the captain was very accommodating and the crew was very nice, easy to talk to, and knowledgeable. The boat was very clean and we all felt very comfortable during our cruise. We saw beautiful landscapes, sea lions and a bald eagle. So glad we had this experience!

5.00We LOVED our charter sail on the Hesper. The captain and deckhand were friendly and knowledgeable, and the scenery was gorgeous. We all had a blast - from my 80-year-old dad to my 6-year-old son!

5.00This was a really fun experience, touring the bay when my family visited Portland for a weekend. The boat is a really nice, clean older lobster boat. It was chilly and they put sides down and made it very comfortable. The guides were friendly and told us a lot about the area, but also left time for us to just relax and look around. The bay is beautiful and it was a great trip! Highly recommend. (Our kids are actually adults, not teens but there’s no drop down choice for that)
