On this day tour we go to the mountains! Monchique is right up there. With evergreen vegetation, it allows us to have fantastic views. The first stop is at Caldas de Monchique, a 16th century SPA Resort. Let’s explore the ancient gardens that look like they came out of a fairy tale and drink the famous alkaline water!

The small town of Monchique is quite warm and we can walk in its small streets.

After that we go to Fóia, the highest point in the Algarve and one of the largest in Portugal. With 902 meters of height, we were able to have a 360º view of breathtaking.

Here we will visit the small spa where we find a secret garden of the sixteenth century. In this verdant garden we will prove the water that comes directly from the mountain, the purest and known for its medicinal properties.

We highly recommend any tours with Filipe! He was very knowledgeable, professional and kind! The Monchique tour had some walking and driving. Our favourite part was seeing the Storks and their babies! Also drinking the spring water and filling up our water bottles. Thank you Filipe for an awesome tour experience! Lorraine

Filipe was an excellent guide! He had so much knowledge to share. We saw beautiful and interesting parts of the Algarve I wouldn’t have seen without this tour. It was easy to see Filipe enjoys his job. I’ve already recommended this tour!

Because it wasn't busy, we had Antonio as our private guide, which was amazing. He is so knowledgeable and engaging; he seems to instinctively know what your interests are. He was incredibly patient as I spent way too much time in a lovely shop in Monchique that had all hand-made items; what a gem that I never would have found on my own. The views from the mountain were amazing. Best for us was the walk around Caldas de Monchique, a tranquil oasis. You could not do better than a tour with Antonio. Everything was perfect.

The relaxing drive into the Monchique countryside with our lovely driver Magdelana. The views from the top were gorgeous as was the liquor.

Good tour of areas you wouldnt see. Good company to book through as they were professional . The tour didn’t have a huge highlight. . We visited studio bonagart in monchique which I highly recommend

We had a very nice guide who showed us the beautiful landscape and great views. A lot of things were explained, but unfortunately the tour was not offered with a German-speaking guide, so we couldn't understand everything.

A fantastic half day tour. Our guide Antonio was very knowledgeable and answered our many questions and gave excellent advice. The itinerary was perfect with great views of the Algarve from it's highest point. The stops at the spa town a d Montique were special. We would highly recommend this tour and this company.

Great day trip with our wonderful Guide Antonio from Southern Explorers. A special visit to a spa town and to Montique. The views from the highest point on the Algarve was spectacular. You could see from Faro to Cape St. Vincente.
