Hello happy people. Today we are in the city of Lisbon - Portugal. The city of Lisbon has a very rich and interesting history. There are many sights worth visiting. One of these places is one of the symbols of the city, namely the Sanctuary of Christ the King (in Portuguese Santuário de Cristo Rei). This is one of the most famous landmarks near Lisbon. The huge statue of Christ is located in Almada, on the south bank of the Tagus River, right next to Ponte 25 de Abril. The monument was inaugurated in 1959. It was inspired by Christ the Redeemer in Brazil. The total height is about 110–113 meters. The statue of Christ is ~ 28 meters high and the base is ~ 82 meters. It was built as a symbol of gratitude that Portugal remained relatively untouched by World War II. A panoramic platform with one of the best views of Lisbon, the bridge and the ocean. There you will find chapels and a religious complex. You can reach the top by elevator. From the site you can see the neighborhoods of Lisbon, Serra da Arrábida and sometimes even Sintra on a clear day. The place is especially beautiful at sunset. You must visit this place. Greetings and smiles.

How can I come to Lisbon without coming here? An exceptional view from above, well admittedly it deserves in view of the world waiting. An elevator then a hundred steps and you're in paradise

When I was in Lisboa in 2004 for the Euros I didn’t have time to go here, When I went back to Lisboa after 21 years I had to go and visit this magnificent statue. It’s simply breathtaking and a beautiful view of the 25 de Abril bridge and the Tagus river. My family loved it. A guaranteed must.

To get to this destination for those in Lisbon you have to cross the Tagus River and you can do it by ferry or across the bridge April 25 which is very similar to the Golden Gate of San Francisco in America. We took a taxi and crossed the bridge. Admission to the park is free but I recommend you to make tickets and get on. There is a very nice view of the city and you can better admire the grandeur of the work

It is a shrine behind which a statue of Christ the King was built. The statue was commissioned by Salazar because Portugal was not involved in World War II. A magnificent monument whether you are a believer or not, it does not leave you indifferent, its outstretched arms seem to protect all those below it. The view it offers over the Tagus and the 25th of April Bridge make it the most beautiful viewpoint in Lisbon Visit prices are very affordable. I think we should avoid busy periods because there is only one elevator to go up and there are no stairs Also worth a tour of the garden and its statues. Vertigo abstain

Ferry to Almada, you can turn right and walk along the river then an elevator up to the village and walk. Nearly an hour uphill though so turn left and get the bus or an Uber was only four euros.
