In Linderhof palace you have to walk only approx. two times 10 minutes (relatively flat) and in the 30 minutes tour of the castle you have to climb stairs to the first floor.
Herrenchiemsee palace can be reached by a 20 minutes walk or by is a horse-driven carriage, starting at the pier (3.50 € per adult, not operating in winter season) In the palace you have to climb stairs up to the 1st floor and back (there is an elevator service for people with mobility impairments).
Each castle can be reached also with strollers, but they are not allowed during the tour of the interiors.

Before visiting the largest, most expensive and most magnificent castle of the Bavarian "fairytale king" Ludwig II., you can look forward to a 15-minute fun boat trip over Bavaria's largest lake ***** Prices (2025) for ferryboat round-trip: Adults 13.00 € / Children 6-15 years € 6.50) ***** Here in Prien, the charming town with 10,000 inhabitants on the western shore of Lake Chiemsee, there is not only the largest harbour of the lake, but also the boat in which the king took over the island. In the summer months, the oldest steam tram in the world runs between the train station and the port!
