The Overnight Camel Safari - (Off-the Beaten Track) is ideal for those who want to live the nomadic desert life. These tours offer you the freedom to explore the desert in a unique way as you will be taken through varied landscape of the Thar desert including – arid scrub land, fields ploughed by tenacious farmers, rocky outcrops, dotted with huts & temples and offering plenty of opportunities to spot the local wildlife. This tour will be completely off-the-beaten track and you would be spending the night sleeping under the stars in a warm & cosy bed.
This overnight camel safari starts at 6:30am and ends at around 11am the next day.

Trotters Tours & Travels Camel Safari
Route: Our safari takes you into remote and isolated areas of the Thar Desert with its tranquility, varied wild life and clean sand dunes. Day 1: Please note that the tour departs from our office in Jaisalmer; however, we can surely arrange your pick-up from your hotel in Jaisalmer or any pre-decided point. Departure at 6:30 AM from Jaisalmer by Jeep to the camel point. You'll receive a warm welcome by friendly guides and healthy camels. Have a delicious freshly cooked breakfast prepared by our guides. Enjoy a camel ride of about two and a half hours to three hours (one person per camel only). Take rest under the shade, enjoy a delicious lunch and relax. Mount on the camel again and ride for approximately two hours. Stop at the dunes, marvel at the beautiful sunset, and have a delicious traditional dinner. Sleep under the stars (a bed with mattress, pillow and blankets will be provided).

Jaisalmer
Next morning, wake up to a beautiful sunrise. Eat a healthy breakfast after sunrise and enjoy the camel ride for about one and a half hours. Visit the Serene Oasis and the Khaba Fort on your way back. Get a Jeep for Jaisalmer and arrive at around 11AM to11:30AM. We offer shower facilities if you wish to refresh before your departure for the tour or on return.

5.00Highly recommend this tour with Trotters! Great time with the camel dudes out in the sand, they cooked some lovely food and it was in general a very nice, relaxing antidote to the craziness Rajasthan has to offer! I returned wanting to become a man camel of the desert but unfortunately I had to go home.

5.00One of the best adventures I’ve done! The guide was super friendly, dune bashing was thrilling, and the sunset & sunrise in the desert felt magical. We took the non touristy desert safari and the best part was the whole dune was ours. dinner were the perfect end to the day. And the best part was met new people and made a connections. 5.00They are best for 1. Their authenticity — not a packaged tourist trap. 2. Their attention to detail — safe, clean, thoughtful service. 3. The sense of solitude — we really felt like we were “alone” in the desert. 4. The star-gazing experience — sleeping under the open sky was unforgettable. If you’re looking for a desert safari that’s not overly commercial, one that lets you experience real desert magic, I will definitely recommend them

5.00Everyone was really nice and punctual on departures and drop off. Safari was really nice for a 1 day trip, theres alot of dunes at the end spot where you sleep. Beautiful starry night sky as well, and everything is well organized. Would definitely recommend to people looking for a short safary experience. If you have more time though I would definitely recommend doing a longer safary of a couple days. There youd be able to be surrounded by dunes as far as the eye can see, and the sky even more breath taking, one of the most beautiful sceneries the world has to offer.

5.00Truly one of the top highlights of my 6 weeks in India! I was lucky to have my trusty guide Dalpat and Rambo the camel to go around the Thar Desert. This company delivered on their non-touristic branding, the whole time I barely encountered other travelers and we spent the bulk of our time traversing dunes and other scenery. After spending time in many cities, this was a welcomed escape!

5.00Astounding experience! A beautiful, peaceful non touristic route, and a magic experience sleeping under the stars. Our group consisted of myself, my partner and my partner’s parents and we all loved it. Our driver Chhagan and our guides Prakash and Hamad were caring, conscientious and really looked after us. This was an unforgettable experience! Yes, there are cheaper camel safaris out there but you will end up in a tent city with hundreds of other tourists. This experience felt much more authentic and it’s awesome knowing Trotters is owned and run by local villagers. At the end of the tour, our driver Chhagan took us briefly by his home in a village where we had the privilege of sharing chai with his family. I will be recommending this experience to everyone.
