This Northern Lights hunt is your best opportunity to properly chase the precious aurora borealis and observe them. Because the trip is based on the weather forecasts and conditions, you will drive in the most promising directions, away from the light pollution of big towns and villages.
Your professional aurora hunter will also teach you about arctic nature, local lifestyle and northern lights to offer you a complete Lapland experience. The hunt is meant to be both educational and adventurous!
Pictures will be taken by your guide with their professional camera. It is a very useful tool to anticipate the apparition of auroras, find them and capture them!

Based on our long experience and Northern lights knowledge, and on the analysis of the weather/solar situation, we will drive you away from Rovaniemi to find the best places in order to observe the Northern lights. Your aurora guide will always be equipped with a professional camera to take pictures of you and of the northern lights, but also to check the evolution of the sky and anticipate the apparition of lights. All pictures are sent to you after the tour by email! During the tour, we will stop to as many places as needed and drive as far as required by the conditions. During the excursion, you will have a great opportunities to learn about the stars, how to orientate yourself in the night, tell you more about legends associated to the Northern lights, about cultural aspects of Lapland, etc. Your guide will also share with you all their knowledge about the scientific phenomena behind the Northern Lights. Our mission is to do everything that is possible so that you can observe the Northern Lights.

5.00Thanks to Martin for showing us the Northern Lights and sharing his knowledge , it is exciting We had the chance to experience this magic that nature offers us in exceptional conditions with Martin who is very attentive The stars were beautiful also all in a beautiful setting with small fire and armchair to enjoy I also loved the sound of ice forming and breaking with the current of water Nature is splendid and in Lapland it is exceptional Can’t wait to come back and summer tempts me too Thank you Martin

Many thanks to Chris for all his explanations about the Northern Lights and to Lola who adapted the evening to children. 5.00How to spend an unforgettable moment: be with Quentin who took us on the hunt for the Northern Lights 😉. After barely an hour and a half, the magic worked. This guide who knows his job at his fingertips dazzled us with his knowledge and explanations about this phenomenon. I recommend to 100% Nordic Odyssey who allowed us to have a great stay

5.00Camilla was an absolutely fantastic guide. Knowledgeable, safe driver and committed to everyone having a good experience. We really had to hunt for the Aurora, we went to several different locations to try to find the northern lights, as it was a bit cloudy. By careful observing data and the sky, Camilla managed to find several patches of clear skies, and before we found the Aurora, she pointed out different constellations and the North Star! Then as we were driving we saw an Aurora arc and she found a safe spot for us to pull over. We then saw the most amazing Aurora, dancing in the sky. She also took great photos of us.

5.00★★★★★ If you're looking for an authentic, dedicated "hunt" led by a true expert, then you need to book with Nordic Odyssey. Our night had every reason to be a disappointment. The conditions were challenging, to say the least: a thick fog, a sky devoid of stars, and a biting -27.5°C. We embarked on an epic Arctic road trip, driving an incredible 250km through the Finnish wilderness. We drove so far north we were near the Swedish border, chasing a break in the weather. Despite the distance, we were seeing very little, and we had honestly started to prepare ourselves for the fact that some forces of nature are just beyond anyone's control. But Martin, our amazing tour guide, never gave up. His determination never wavered. He was a fountain of knowledge, constantly analyzing data and explaining the complex science behind the auroras. He shared captivating stories about Finnish history and culture, which made the long journey feel like a privileged insider's tour of Lapland. His passion and professionalism kept our spirits high. Then, just as we were about to head back, he found it. A beautiful, shimmering green and red glow piercing through the haze. It wasn't a massive storm, but that made it even more special. After the long, cold hunt, witnessing those elusive lights felt like a personal victory we had earned together. This was so much more than a tour - it was an adventure. Martin’s unwavering effort and encyclopedic knowledge turned what could have been a disappointing night into one of our most memorable experiences in Finland. 5.00My family and I went on a tour to see the Northern Lights, and it was a wonderful experience even though we didn't get to see them. Our guides, Camille and Lola, immersed us in Lappish culture and were very kind to us. First, we went to a kota to warm up while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear, where we were offered a hot drink and roasted sausages. Then, after we realised we weren't going to see them, we moved to another spot a little further north. There, we managed to catch a glimpse of a small aurora.

5.00Too nice experience! We learned a lot about the Northern Lights, Lapland, Finland, or even photography! It was a great time to share. Thanks to Quentin for his passionate explanations! The tour was done in small group (in English and French to adapt to the public:), we were lucky because we did not have to ride very long from Rovaniemi before having a clear sky and the Northern Lights let themselves be seen from the beginning of the evening 😊 I recommend taking warm clothes / bobble because in the evening it is obviously colder than during the day, but if you plan this, you will not have a problem 😊 I really recommend Nordic Odissey because their guides are very experienced and really know about Lapland and Finland! You will come out of their activities having learned a lot! They answer all our questions with great pleasure

5.00We took part in a Northern Lights hunt with Camille. Our guide was very friendly, patient and we were able to chat and ask him all our questions around a fire! In addition, thanks to her and a lot of luck, we were able to see beautiful auroras!
