Shirakawago
Our English speaking driver will take you directly to the UNESCO village of Shirakawago, You will spend 2 and half hours here. Crossing the spectacular pedestrian bridge across the Sho river, your senses will be filled with the sounds and smells of authentic rural life. This fairy-tale village is bound to inspire you as one of Japans most picturesque sites.
Hida Furukawa Old Town
Your group will then be whisked off to the canal lined streets of Hida-Furukawa. Your group will spend 1 hours here, exploring the town and taking in lunch. This once significant outpost during the Edo period is rich in architectural history. Famous for its timber craftsmanship and rowdy festivals this village is a rare gem among the towns and villages of this mountainous region.

5.00We had a very nice time exploring these towns. Takayama was the standout with a beautiful and charming old town, I would argue nicer than the ones in Kanazawa. Shirakawa-go was very interesting and worth visiting as it is on the way and it is small so it is not a long detour. Our guide was Mai and she was great. Knowledgeable, attentive and flexible, she knew where to go and where not to. She also took us to a very nice restaurant, and it our experience that sometimes these guides do not necessarily take you to the right places, because they probably get a commission. That was not the case with Mai. She also speaks very good English, which is not that common in Japan. Over all a very good experience

5.00Fun guide Fun experience! My husband & I loved the wonderful time we spent with our guide una exploring Shiragawa-go/Hida Takayama & Kanazawa. Sh was professional,knowledgeable & interested in our opinions of the sights we were visiting.We loved her enthusiasm & sense of humour & her recommendations for restaurants,activities & places to visit in the evenings. Thank you Una for your company & for making our tour so enjoyable.

5.00My family did the Shirakawa-go, Takayama, and Hida Furukawa tour and we couldn’t have asked for a better tour day with our driver guide Takeshi. As a Kanazawa native he was very knowledgeable about Kanazawa and its surrounding areas. At all of the tour spots, he guided is through the location and then gave us time to explore ourselves. My family is vegetarian and for lunch he took us to a very nice Indian/nepalese restaurant. It was a pleasure to travel with Takeshi, he always engaged in conversation and will go out of his way to keep everybody comfortable. 100% recommend this tour.

5.00Kumiko was such a lovely and very kind guide. She has her own binders full of information to make the story easier to visualize and understand. Her recommendations as to where to buy food and souvenirs were all great and I just adore her personalized sketches she made for me.

5.00Yoshiko arrived on time and quickly assessed our touring priorities. Her English is fluent and it is easy to have conversations with her. Yoshiko is a professional tour guide and it shows. She is an expert in all of the destinations and we were able to make good use of our time with her. I highly recommend having her as your guide!

5.00Masu was a wonderful guide/driver. His English is outstanding. He drove well, the van was comfortable and his plan for the day was great. I highly recommend spending a day with this charming young gentleman. He is very accommodating, kind and knowledgable! What a great day!!!

5.00Nozomi is the best tour guide I’ve ever had. Her English is almost perfect and she is incredibly knowledgeable and able to impart her enthusiasm for the places we visited in Kanazawa. We learned so much on her tour and, because she has an excellent sense of humor, it was a lot of fun. We can’t imagine a better tour.
