Your day begins with an early morning pickup estimated at 10 AM from your Sandakan hotel or sepilok areas either by selected either private or shared tour. After a meet-and-greet with your guide, embark on a journey into rural Bornean life and sets the stage for the natural wonders ahead over 2 hours or more.
Continue journey to Gomantong Caves, step into one of borneo most remarkable limestone cave systems, inhabited by millions of bats and swiftlets. The caves are famous for edible bird's nests, which are gathered by skilled local gatherers during the season. If your visit aligns with the harvesting season (usually February-April and July-September), you might have the opportunity to observe this bold traditional practice in person. Navigate the accessible Simud Hitam (Black Cave) along the well-kept boardwalks, get ready for a multisensory journey, the chorus of swiftlets and bats, the multitude of insects, and the unique scent of guano combine to create an unforgettable ambiance.

5.00We had a fantastic private tour with Sufri. Everything was smooth and well organized, and he adapted the itinerary to the conditions of the day. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and did a great job explaining the places we visited while showing us around. We strongly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a great tour experience!

5.00Harresun was a great tour guide. He was really knowledgeable and pointed out many things at the Gomatong caves. We got to see the Rhinoceros Hornbill and the Orang utan at the caves. The trip involved a lot of steps and was exhausting but worth the view at the top. The river cruise was also amazing. More orang utan and hornbills king fisher and eagles and lots of different monkeys including the proboscis monkey. Highly recommend

5.00Our guide and boat driver were very friendly, dedicated, and knowledgeable! We had a wonderful time and were lucky enough to see so many animals! Communication was also great.

5.00The trip to Gamantong cave and K. river cruise was excellent, both of us preferring the river cruise to the cave. The cave is great and interesting (as well as very smelly) but it’s just a cave where one is confined to the path. Unless you arrive in the evening and go to the top of the hill to see the bats flying out you won’t see any of them in the cave from close. But on the river you see quite a few animals and birds. Saw the macaque family playing from about one meter close, that was great! Special thanks to our guide and driver Sufri.
