Enjoy a wildlife sea kayak tour off the coast of Western Australia, encountering sea lions around the islands of Shoalwater Bay. You'll explore the waters of Seal Island, plus either Penguin Island or Point Peron, depending on the season. Guides, double sea kayaks, lunch, and necessary gear are all included for your convenience and enjoyment. When booking, select either Penguin Island or Point Peron for your tour; you also have the option to include hotel pickup in Perth (central business district) or drive yourself to the starting point in Shoalwater Islands Marine Park.

A fun day out getting close to nature

5.00A busy day, yet never felt hurried. Plenty of time to enjoy paddling and close proximity with sea lions, dolphins, pelicans and more. Great lunch spread, and Izzy was an excellent guide. Be prepared to help with unloading and loading the kayaks. Many hands made light work, but we all got a workout. Dropped back at our hotel right on time.

5.00I had a fantastic time. Tom was a great driver, guide and host. Saw some sea lions at a medium distance playing in the water. Not lucky enough to have close interactions but animals need to be themselves don't they. Loved the nature walk on Penguin Island, saw lots of birds and heard lots about their life and habits from Tom. Great lunch and snacks. Snorkelling was fun, a medium amount of fish and fantastic clear water. Trip back kayaking was fantastic, surfing down the waves the last 2km to the beach and home. Save up the money and DO IT! Jo

5.00Truly wonderful, unique experience. Perfect balance between experiencing nature and respecting it. Seeing the sea lions and pelicans were particularly brilliant! Our guides were both so friendly, knowledgeable and fun. They were both so good at instructing you enough that you learnt and felt safe, but let you take the lead and get a real sense of accomplishment. Overall a 5 star experience, can’t recommend highly enough!

5.00What a memorable day with Rod and Gemma. From the early morning pick up in Perth City, to the goodbyes at the end - this was an incredible day. Being novice Kayakers we were put at ease with the very comprehensive safety briefings and when the tour started, it was something else. Nature and Wildlife everywhere. From playful Sea-lions swimming up to the Kayaks, to flocks of Pelicans flying overhead, Shoalwater Marine Park is a special place. Penguin Island is a lovely island with all manner of wildlife and plants, expertly explained by Rod - his knowledge of the area is incredible and brought the day to life. Gemma is a little superstar and so helpful and kept us all safe on the Kayaking. The kayak back to shore was a little bumpy with the waves, but so much fun. This is a MUST DO when in the area. Thank you so much for a special day and we will be back.

5.00A huge thank you to Rivergods and our trip leader Jemma for a fantastic day on the water. The scenery was stunning and getting close-up to wildlife very special. Seals, crabs, fish, lots of cool birds, bird with eggs and the inquisitive King Skinks were everywhere! Jemma did an amazing job to make us feel like a group and catered for all abilities and interest with simple, clear instructions in a relaxed, friendly and inclusive way. The kayak equipment was great, the lunch delicious and we all came back to the mainland in one piece. Top day out!
You must do this if you are travelling in Perth!

5.00Such an amazing experience! Saw loads of seals, dolphins, pelicans and loads of other types of birds. Izzy took the tour for the day and she was fantastic, so friendly and helpful and she provided so much information about the wildlife and islands. Would definitely recommend 👍

5.00Great trip, saw sealions, dolphins, a penguin, lizards, pelicans, loads of birds. Izzy was a really good guide, tailored the trip to us and had lots of useful information about everything we saw. Sea kayaking was fun. Nice touch to have the food and drink on the island.

3.00Jil and Gemma did a great job on this beautiful trip and knew a lot to tell with a nice lunch on piquin island. We have seen seals, piquins, dolphins, pelicans that nested that was totally top and super fun. Unfortunately, the equipment they get from their employer rivergods is worn and poorly maintained. Furthermore, it is arranged in such a way that participants with quite heavy kayaks from a trailer in the parking lot have to walk quite a way down the dune and beach. This was extra difficult for us as we are not allowed to lift heavily due to operations and something I would not expect for over $400. The price quality is way out of balance.

5.00So much fun! this was our first time kayaking and we had a blast. our group was people in their 20s to people in their 50s-60s and it was so fun. Ella and Gemma taught our group everything we needed to know and one stayed in front of the group and one behind to make sure no one was left behind. we got to see the sea lions laying out in the sun and going for a swim! we had a very delicious picnic and nature walk seeing the native wildlife and coast lines. I would give them 100 stars if I could

5.00We had a totally nice guide with a lot of knowledge about landscape and animals. The kayak tour was great. There were breathtaking views, many seabirds (including breeding bird colonies) and sea lions.
