We will discover Verona with a walk. Starting from Piazza Bra we will admire the Area of Verona. Following Via Mazzini, famous shopping street of Verona, we will walk to Juliet's House. Then we continue towards Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza dei Signori, Porta Borsari and the Arche Scaligere. We will reach the Ponte di Pietra and, if you want, we can take the funicular and reach the San Pietro hill for a high view of Verona.

Piazza Bra

To visit Verona it is obvious to start from the central Piazza Bra, which blends buildings from different eras and architectures in the bright, sunny light that crosses it. The Arena, Palazzo Barbieri and the Gran Guardia are the most famous and admired, but the Fontana delle Alpi, the Liston with its noble palaces, the Visconti walls, the statue of Vittorio Emanuele II and the Pentagona Tower are no less important.

The Arena of Verona is, together with Juliet's house, the monument for which the city is famous in Italy and worldwide. It is the third largest Roman amphitheatre after the Colosseum and the Arena of Capua. It can hold about 20,000 people, which is believed to have been the entire population of Verona in the 1st century AD, the period when the monument was built.

Our family of six (including two teenagers) often has different opinions and tastes when it comes to the experiences we share together. However, both trips we took with Nico—to Chioggia and to Verona/Lake Garda—brought complete agreement within our family: they were outstanding experiences. Our tour guide was Chiara. She picked me on time, was knowledgable and easy to communicate with. During such short period of time we managed to see a lot of Verona and to learn about it history. Now, in my memory, the beauty of this city is associated with the beauty of our guide, Chiara. I definitely recommend to take such tour.
