John Lennon and Paul McCartney were shaped by strikingly contrasting childhoods, developed very different writing styles, met by chance in Liverpool, formed a songwriting partnership, and that partnership changed popular music.
This Liverpool Beatles tour explores how the songwriting styles of Lennon and McCartney combined to create the partnership that evolved into the Beatles. Each part of the story is told at the very places where it actually happened.

We explore the setting for events in John Lennon's earliest childhood that helped shape the person he became. Although he spent only his first few years here, important family circumstances began to unfold at this address that would influence his outlook on life for years to come. These formative experiences provide an important starting point for understanding John's character, his unique perspective on the world, and the qualities that would later influence his songwriting, leadership of the Quarrymen, and role within the Beatles.

Mendips was the home where John Lennon spent most of his childhood and teenage years, and where many of the experiences that shaped his character, interests and outlook on life unfolded. Here we explore the influences, relationships and pivotal events that helped form the young John Lennon, while discovering how memories, people and experiences from this period would later find their way into his music. This stop provides an important link between John's childhood and the emergence of the songwriter, musician and future Beatle he would become.

5.00Paul did a great job of showing us many of the Beatle highlights in Liverpool. The taxi was fine and he seemed to hit most of the places one would expect in the time allotted for the tour.

5.00Had a beatiful tour with friends hosted by Paul Fletcher during our day visit in Liverpool. Very informative and learned a few interesting things about the Beatles and what happened in the years after. Paul took some pictures and shared them with us. Amazing day.

5.00Absolutely recommend this tour. This was a fabulous tour! Paul was our guide, not only was he very knowledgeable about the Beatles, he played their music as we toured around. The one thing that stood out about Paul was he kindness to my husband. My husband had a stoke awhile back. Paul took time to help him in and out of the car and made everything so comfortable. Thank you so much for a great time!

5.00The tour was better than our expectations. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour . it was so interesting and Paul was so full of informative facts. We tour all the Beatles homes except John's due our time constraints. My wife was/is a big Beatles fan and even she learned so many new fun and interesting facts. Paul was a genuine delight . Highly recommend this tour

5.00The tour was outstanding. It was more then i expected and one Major reason was the tour director, Paul. His knowledge of the Beatles was incredible and his interpretation of songs was very informative. Paul was very outgoing and made sure we had time at each spot to take pictures. We visited all the sights that showed the whole Beatles experience and history. I highly recommend the tour and definitely Paul as a tour guide.

5.00This tour is a must for Beatles fans! Absolutely excellent, we had such a great day. Paul was a superb guide, really nice man and he was so accommodating and took us back home after! His knowledge and anecdotes were great it was a fantastic day out! Worth every penny!

5.00Paul was an amazing tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable. There was not a question asked that he couldn't answer. He went above and beyond what was expected including taking incredible pictures for us. It was a rainy day but that didn't impact our tour at all. He hit all the sights and then some. If you are interested in the Beatles and in Liverpool, you must book your tour with Paul. You will not be disappointed and it will be an amazing time.
