Asakusa
Asakusa (浅草) is the center of Tokyo's shitamachi (literally "low city"), one of Tokyo's districts, where an atmosphere of the Tokyo of past decades survives. Asakusa's main attraction is Sensoji, a very popular Buddhist temple, built in the 7th century. The temple is approached via the Nakamise, a shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional, local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries.
Imperial Palace
**This tour does not include access to the inside of the Imperial Palace** The current Imperial Palace is located on the former site of Edo Castle, a large park area surrounded by moats and massive stone walls in the center of Tokyo, a short walk from Tokyo Station. It is the residence of Japan's Imperial Family. Edo Castle used to be the seat of the Tokugawa shogun who ruled Japan from 1603 until 1867. In 1868, the shogunate was overthrown, and the country's capital and imperial residence were moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. In 1888 construction of a new Imperial Palace was completed. The palace was once destroyed during World War Two, and rebuilt in the same style, afterwards.

5.00We spent a week in Tokyo, and our tour guide, Rumi, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to spend time with. We enjoyed great conversations while learning about the history and culture of Japan. If you let the guide know your interests in advance, they do an excellent job of tailoring the experience to make sure you get the most out of your trip. Since we weren't familiar with Tokyo's transportation system, Rumi kindly met us at our hotel, which made everything much easier. She also took amazing photos throughout the tour and knew all the best spots and angles for capturing memorable pictures. Because she handled the photography, we were able to fully enjoy the scenery and the experience without worrying about taking photos ourselves. At the end of the tour, she sent us all the pictures, which was a wonderful bonus. We had an amazing time in Japan and are so grateful to have had Rumi as our guide. Highly recommended!

5.00We had a 6 hour private tour of Tokyo with our guide Fummy, and we had the best day. Fummy tailored the itinerary to what we were most interested in seeing, and planned the whole day for us. We learned so much about Japanese history and culture from him in between our stops while riding the subway or train around Tokyo. Fummy was a cheerful and friendly guide to spend the day with and my son and I enjoyed our day with him immensely. It was a fantastic first day in Tokyo for us.

5.00Atsushi-san was an incredibly well-researched and friendly tour guide. His knowledge allowed us to explore and get to the historical significance of the various locations we visited. His explanations were simple but comprehensive. The six hours flew by and included some off-the-beaten opportunities including coffee at a very austere but memorable location near the fish market. I would highly recommend him as well as this tour for anyone with limited time in Tokyo wanting see as much as possible
It was my first day here in Tokyo and had Izumi as my guide. Izumi ‘s an excellent guide. I would highly recommend him .

5.00Izumi is very knowledgeable about the culture & history of Tokyo/ Japan. I learned a lot from him. Riding the train & subway with him was fun too. He made it easy to navigate. My whole tour i would say was very educational , relaxed and safe. I also had a good lunch picked by him.

5.00Hideki San was a highlight of my trip to Tokyo. He is incredibly knowledgeable about both the history of Tokyo and Japan as well as current day. He was wonderful in helping to plan our time together to maximize what I could see and learn. He suggested a delicious fresh sushi spot for lunch and a delicious red bean treat later in the tour. He even helped translate conversations with shop keepers for me. I HIGHLY recommend booking a tour with him to get the most out of your Tokyo experience!

Fummy tailored our itinerary based on our interests, and gave us a splendid day in Tokyo start to finish. We loved the sights he showed us and we felt very well taken care of!

5.00Great introduction to Tokyo! Izumi customized the trip for our family including cultural sites, ramen, gachapon and rainbow cotton candy for the kids. It was great to learn the train system from a local making us confident to venture out on our own the next day.

5.00Haru was an excellent tour guide. He was extremelyknowledgeable and provided a lot of very useful and interesting information during our tour. He communicated with me multiple times via email to design an itinerary that was desired by my family. My family wanted to focus our tour in one particular area and he was able to create a schedule that was very workable.We were not rushed, and he allowed us to explore the areas, but also kept us on the schedule. I highly recommend this tour and thank you for HARU as a guide.
We learned how to ride the trains and we went to multiple shrines and temples around Tokyo. Sam was great! We enjoyed it
