  Functional boat for this type of activity, despite sullen weather, good navigation 24 people instead of 40: very appreciable. Nice crew. Very nice approach to the cellars by the captain despite the size of the boat. Nice BBQ on the beach and fresh and good food. Too bad the weather and sails were not there.   Beautiful boat, amazing crew who looked after us, bbq and swimming on the beach was fantastic. I was with my 9 year old daughter and she had a blast too.

  Absolutely brilliant day out and excellent value for money . Full day out from 9.30 to 5. Great fun . Staff were lovely . BBQ was exceptional quality fresh food … quite unexpected ! Would definitely recommend

• Horrendous Boat Trip

  Not worth the money and boring. I have experienced many boat trips in the past and I have to say this is the worst one I have been on. I was very excited at the start when we were waiting and then booking in, but disappointed when I boarded the boat. It was a catamaran but extremely small for the number of passengers on board. There was no where to properly sit (only by the smokers corner) which was horrendous. Me and my family could not sit down to enjoy the surrounding areas. We travelled for 3 hours on the boat with no stops and we did not even receive a complimentary drink or snack as we were setting sail. Everything was chargeable, even though I booked the trip as an open bar Beach BQQ. However, this was pointed out that this would only be available at the Beach. Another point to add that in the small print and terms it said you were not allowed to bring any of your own food and water on board. I thought no problem as it was an open bar. Very much mistaken. The crew were miserable and did not engage with any of the people on board. We had a brief stop by the caves but told we could not experience them because the boat had sails and was too big to get close. We were also not allowed to jump in the water and experience open water swimming, which I thought would break up the 3 hour journey. On arrival to the beach BBQ we were told to either jump in and swim to shore or have to wait for a tender boat to take us in. We had to make a decision that one of us had to stay on the boat to carry all our belongings. This I did. When I eventually got to shore as the boat was dealing with another large party doing the same excursion, I got to the beach and the queue for a drink was ridiculous. We were all lined up like children and were only allowed one drink. Very disappointing when this was to be a open bar. I eventually got my one drink and then queued again for the food. It was okay nothing much to say. I was about to queue again for another drink when the crew said we are now packing up and need to get back on board. We had only been at the beach for an hour. That is totally unacceptable when it was meant to be a boat and beach trip. The other group who arrived first, got to go back on the boat last so they got longer than we did. I told the crew that it was unacceptable that we were not spending longer at the beach. They just said sorry but they had to get back by 5pm to 5.30pm as they were doing another trip at 6pm Sunset Beach BQQ. The boat was too slow one crew member said. I could not endure another 3 hours on a boat and have to pay for drinks - alcohol no issue with but water!!. and with the lack of space to spread out it was not what I expected or paid the large sum for. I therefore made a decision that it would be cheaper to get a taxi back to my hotel than pay for the extortionate drinks on board. I told the crew members we would not be returning on the boat.

  I did this experience with my partner, and we arrived at the pickup point but the boat had some engine issues so we did wait over an hour to get started. At first I was sceptical, but soon enough they let us on the boat and we got started. As we were behind we went straight to the beach, which let me tell you was absolutely incredible by far the best beach in Algarve. We had the option of jumping in the water and swimming to the shore or getting a boat there. I chose to jump in Which doesn’t require a life jacket, my partner on the other hand went on a boat. Jumping in was such an adrenaline rush , when I went in the water I didn’t even feel cold. Except my swimsuit did break xd when we got to the shore there was free access to paddle boards and balls to play around with. And free umbrellas that you can sit under. There were other groups doing the same activities. As I was waiting for my partner to get the boat across I paddle close to the boat, they provide lifejackets if you want to use the paddle board. The freedom of the private beach was amazing. The sand is soft and the ocean is blue one downside there are rocks and I stood my toe. Once everyone was on the shore we all got food and enjoyed it except the seagulls were getting really close but I ran after them and they run off. Once we were finished with the beach we got a boat back to our main boat. We began the cave tour and that lasted for about 30 minutes there wasn’t a lot to view as we couldn’t go inside the caves due to the boat mast being tall. On the way back from the caves to Vilamoura everyone enjoyed the bar on the boat and net that we can sit on in the front. There was amazing music and strong drinks (pricey but worth it) there are toilets on the boat and a place to sit undercover if you don’t want to be sunburnt like I was xd and the best thing was the company of strangers who made it seem like a great big party, another positive is that the boat wasn’t overcrowded. And the crew had humour, they were all lovely. Guy was our tour guide!! BIG UP!! People were relaxing suntanning on our way back. And I even requested a few songs which the crew approved of. I was dancing at the front of the boat like nobody was watching!! it really was worth the money!!!

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Slow boat to the beach, Uber back home

  Booked the trip with expectations from other similar trips of a comfortable catamaran we could relax on and enjoy a few drinks while sailing to our beach destination and enjoy the food and sea relax for a couple of hours. In reality this trip is nothing like that, there’s no welcome drink no comfortable seating and it’s more like a pirate ship given the rows of seats and hostile crew, the young lad was rude and unhelpful, we chugged along for 3 hours without food or water listening to the same song for 40 minutes on repeat before it was changed to Bob Marley the rest of the way. There’s nothing to see and no interaction from the crew. The boat journey took longer than our flight from the UK. We arrived at a public beach not private and jumped in the sea to form orderly lines for food and drink being given a generous hour before we departed for the 3 hour return leg. Good luck with the open bar for an hour when 3 boats all arrive at the same time and 200 people are desperate for a drink. The food at best was mediocre, shrimp in tack Luke warm, ready salted crisps, pasta salad and 2 barely cooked bratwurst served by our salty crew. Then shouts of all back on boat it’s home time, no one had time to swim or relax. We refused the trip back as we were hungry tired and totally disappointed with the trip, the crew offered no words of comfort just told us to complain as it happens everyday. We were only 30km away in Praida so got a €40 Uber back in comfort that took 45 minutes instead of 3 hours. Awful day, awful crew if Men in Back movie was real I would ask for this day to be deleted from my memory.

  Excursion very long drawn, catamaran very slow moving, Beach not nice very crowded, mass handling by and large Price performance can be saved
