  More for kids and individuals visiting the area. We saw trees people waving and homes. Maybe in the fall it would be great to see the colors on the trees. My husband and I definitely weren’t impressed we could’ve drove the area not to much to see.

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Fun but a bit hard to find the town

  This was a good train ride. We were taken around the bay there in Meredith New Hampshire. It is well worth the price. For travelers who are not familiar with the area,it’s a bit hard to find. If you are in the area definitely take the train ride. If you are a bit aways from there maybe skip it.

  Room was somewhat dated but exceptionally clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable. When we checked in Elaine was very friendly and handed us a real key. Have not been in a hotel for years that had a real key! Only stayed overnight but if you need a reasonably priced hotel I woukd recommend the Fireside Inn.

  Beautiful weather and travel a day with my wife a beautiful time, terrific staff. We were in town for a music concert and decided to take in a train ride the morning after.

• Affordable lake view train ride

  This was described as a scenic railway, though it does go along the lake it was a highly residential area, but for the price it was totally worth it. The town was cute and the staff were very friendly, hospitable, and informative.

  Had a fantastic experience. Sat in the first class cabin. They had wonderful live music and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We sat in the double sofa seats on the left side of the train which was on the water side and had a beautiful view.

  

• Lake Winnipesaukee scenic Train Ride

  We rode the Lake Winnipesaukee scenic train ride from Meredith to Lakeport. Nice relaxing ride for a fall day. Loved the scenery. We rode first class but we were the last ones to board. We had to wait for all the bus trip tours to board and the turkey truck to load the turkey dinners (which we did not order). Other than that, it was a nice ride.

  We rode the train while on a bus tour of Maine and New Hampshire. I wasn't expecting much from the food (maybe prepackaged turkey) We were served a complete turkey dinner with the roasted turkey carved at our seats! The scenery along the lake was picturesque. Our server Jim N was very talkative and told us all about the history of the turkey dinner as well as the area.
