Create your own Japanese calligraphy artwork in Shibuya, Tokyo. In this beginner-friendly cultural experience, you will learn basic brush techniques, write your name in kanji or choose a meaningful Japanese character, and complete your artwork with brush and ink. Your instructor will explain the meaning behind your chosen kanji and guide you step by step, so no Japanese language or calligraphy experience is needed. For June, you will also add soft seasonal colors inspired by Japan’s rainy season, called tsuyu, including gentle rain, colorful umbrellas, and hydrangeas. 5.00Great experience! I was so nervous at first to even grip the brush...but the instructer was so friendry and open and charming...made me relaxed!! Im so pround of my work. And it was so relaxing and refreshing too!! Highly recommended if you want to feel Japan with your whole body and soul🙏

5.00Really had a great time learning about Calligraphy. Everyone was very friendly and the experience was felt very fun. I don't normally do many creative things but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to dive into the culture during my visit to Japan and neither should you! Sensei was very knowledgeable and answered all my beginner questions with patience and grace (I love questions lol XD). Would recommend to others for sure :)

5.00It was a very enjoyable experience. Ailee explained it in Spanish easily, and even though I didn't speak Japanese, I went there by myself, but I was relaxed and able to participate. It was good that I wrote my name in kanji and was told what it meant. It was a new kind of art to enjoy pastel color art and calligraphy together. I would like to go again. The content is very substantial and the place is happy in Shibuya. Especially recommended for artists for foreigners and beginners.

5.00My friends and I had a wonderful time under Ailee’s tutelage. In just two hours we learned the basics of Japanese Caligraphy and its was so satisfying to put our new skills to use while creating some beautiful art! Ailee is a wonderful personality and instructor, and thanks to her, I have something cool and personal to hang in my home!
