A fantastic walk around the city centre of York, enjoying stories about its long history. You and the host Kay will visit 5 great independent eateries, all serving delicious food with great passion.
Food that is all sourced locally and with influences from around the world and each carefully chosen tasting makes up part of the city's vibrant food and drink scene. With a knowledgeable guide and the company of other foodies, you and your taste buds will not only thoroughly enjoy yourself but you'll be supporting these local independents too.
You will be walking around the city centre and will end on Castlegate. You walk a little less than a mile in total. It is all flat although some of the streets are cobbled. There are minimal stairs at all your tastings although some have restrooms which are accessed by stairs.
The host Kay do recommend having a very small breakfast – you want to save yourself for some delicious tastings!

5.00We had a delightful experience on this food tour! We experienced it as tourists, but it would also be a great experience as a local. There were a wide variety of foods from many different ethnicities that we tried, and they were all very tasty. Nikki was our tour guide and she was wonderful to work with-- very personable and knowledgeable about all of the stops we went to. This was a great way to spend our afternoon in York and we highly recommend taking this tour!

5.00We were able to try food and drinks from four local restaurants, representing foods from around the world, which is consistent with the international food scene in York. Each dish was delicious and we were very full - of food and information about York and British food traditions.

5.00Kay was a great and personable tour guide. She was knowledgeable about the history in the area and shared lots of details and information with us about York. We enjoyed spending time with her for the afternoon. The food stops were all interesting and different, and we enjoyed trying new things. Overall a great tour that we would recommend. Thanks Kay.
