The tour starts in front of Pirbadet. It continues to a modern part of the city called Solsiden where many locals spend their free time enjoying themselves outside the cafés and restaurants. We proceed along the river Nid and the colorful warehouses. After that we head to one of the oldest areas of the town – Bakklandet – which has managed to preserve its charming wooden architecture. In Bakklandet is where you also find the world's only bicycle lift. We leave Bakklandet behind crossing over the famous old town bridge with "The Portal of Happiness". Then we arrive at Nidaros Cathedral, Norway's national monument. Nidaros Cathedral is built over the tomb of St. Olav, Norway's patron saint. We carry on to the Market Square (Torget). Here, the Viking King Olav Tryggvason, the city's founder, is enthroned above the vibrant square in the shape of a statue. Our next stop is Stiftsgården, the royal residence, and passing Britannia Hotel before heading back to the harbour.

We will see the "sunny side" of Trondheim, a charming and vibrant district with a lot of restaurants and coffee shops.
Bakklandet
This part of town used to be the working class district. The former industrial buildings are now popular and modern apartments. The charming wooden architecture has been preserved over the years despite fires and massive building projects.

5.00Although the weather left much to be desired (rather cold, very windy, & rainy), Gunnar, our guide, was upbeat & positive which helped uplift our mood & spirits for what to expect on our 2-hour trek through the streets of lovely Trondheim. He had lots of knowledge about this city & its history, and was attentive to both the weather & our wellbeing. Overall a very nice experience, which left a nice impression of Trondheim & Norway. 5.00A very good and quick way to see the highlights of trondheim and discover how the center works. You'll learn a little about what you're looking at. We had a very sweet and knowledgeable guide (Lana) who not only shared nice stories from history but also about life now in Norway and the nature of the Norwegians. The short walks are interspersed with pauses in which she talks. For almost everyone to do with some condition. Suitable for adults and older children.

5.00Vanessa our tour guide was absolutely first rate. Tronheim is a very interesting and walkable city with a rich history. Given this, it makes alot of sense to take this sort of tour with a knowledgeable guide who lives and works in the city. We would highly recommend this particular tour as it was excellent. 3.00A walk through Trondheim that likely explored areas we would never have gotten to on our own. However the tour was just average. Unless you stood next to the guide, and kept up with him when walking about, your wouldn't know what he was saying. No audio and no flag to see where he was. He didn't wait for all of us to catch up before talking. I finally gave up and no longer tried. Can't say I'd recommend.
