Travel in our air-conditioned buses towards your first stop the "Tjibaou Cultural Centre”. You will discover the unique architecture of the Center, a polycultural complex, mainly dedicated to Kanak art.
This tour Includes entrance fees to the Cultural Centre and a guided tour of about 45 minutes.
Then we will head towards the second stop located in the town of Mont Dore, the church at the Catholic mission of Conception, starting point of Christianity in New Caledonia with the statue of our lady at the top of its bell tower and the remarkable stained glass windows.
Then your journey will continue to the lookout situated at Ouen Toro with a 360 ° view of the Caledonian lagoon and the areas of Mont Dore, Anse-Vata, Promenade Pierre Vernier, magnificent mountain ranges to name a few.
Finally back to Nouméa city centre, passing by the marinas, town beaches, colonial houses and more…
PLEASE NOTE : This tour is only operating when Cruise Ships are docked in Nouméa !!

You will discover the unique architecture of the Center, a polycultural complex, mainly dedicated to Kanak art. NOTE : In the event of the closure of the Cultural Center TJIBAOU (holidays or cultural events), this stop will be replaced by the natural water source in the town of Mont Dore.
The beautiful church at the Catholic mission of Conception, starting point of Christianity in New Caledonia. As well known under the name of “the church of the Miracles” with it's statue of our lady at the top of its bell tower, remarkable stained glass windows and it’s tropical surroundings with numerous fruit trees including lychee and mango.

5.00We couldn't go on the green train as not enough bookings for our time so Lyvai upgraded us to the Country bus tour. It was very interesting and everything was done well and professionally, despite a few technical issues with the intercom. Our guide Yourunda ( sorry for spelling) was fabulous, friendly, knew the local history really well and made the tour interesting and enjoyable). I loved the Tchibou cultural centre the most. Thank you

5.00Despite really bad weather, extremely heavy rain, this tour was great. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and the cultural centre was fantastic. Our guide, Yolanda, was amazing. She gave us so much information and was very passionate about her country and culture. Thanks.

5.00Amazing tour. Firstly, we were blessed to have an amazing guide in Yolande. She is so incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the rich history and culture of New Caledonia. So friendly, warm, and welcoming to my family. Having a great guide makes a world of difference, and we definitely got the best. The tour itself. From booking through to arrival, the information and instructions were very easy to follow, and locating the tour departure point was really easy. We were welcomed by the lovely crew and directed to our guide and our transport for the day. On the way to the Tjibaou Cultural Centre, Yolande talked about some of the past and present history of New Caledonia, as well as all things chief Tjibaou. The Cultural Centre itself is a very impressive piece of architecture. We were led through tge facility, having each area explained whilst also having time to explore ourselves. Outside, Yolande imparted her vast knowledge on New Caledonian culture and traditions to us. We were shown through three traditional buildings, and boy, were they impressive. Getting an understanding of what their purpose is, how they are constructed, and how they are still an important part of the community. From there it was off to the WWII gun emplacements on top of one of the hills. Quite impressive 360° views of Noumea, local islands, and the incredible landscape. Last stop before heading back was a local church, of which there are several on the Island. Beautiful old structure. The only drawback that my family had was that the tour wasn't long enough! We could have listened to Yolande all day. But that just makes us more eager to come back and explore Noumea and New Caledonia more!

5.00Tour guide Yolande and driver Alexandrine were great. The tour was very informative and well presented. We learned a lot about the people of New Caledonia. Yolande and Alexandrine were super helpfulful with my companion, who was using a walker. The ground may be too much for those with difficulty walking. We wished there had been more time at the cultural museum. Thank you for a great experience!

5.00A very moving kanak land experience! A first people fighting for its survival; this deserves respect! The Trjibaou Centre is a great architectural achievement that admirably combines history, traditions, environment, agriculture and politics!

5.00Really enjoyed the information presented by the local tour guide. Did this from a cruise ship but booked direct. Tour was very concious of returning to ship within timeframes and did so efficiently. Confortabke air conditioned bus and much better value than onboard excursions that eere twice the price. Thoroughly recommend.

1.00Provider confirmed the booking, then two hours later cancelled it as they only run for cruise ships. Tried to rearrange but they wouldn’t tell us what days it would actually be running

5.00Thank you, Yolande and Alex for an interesting tour of the Museum and sharing so much about the everyday lives of regular people in Noumea. The Museum is really wonderful, highly recommended for an afternoon. When I return I will stay longer and look at the amazing art as well as the cultural exhibits. Thanks again, ladies, see you later in the year for round 2.
