Dambulla Cave Temple

Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa
Sigiriya Lion Rock
Depart your hotel at first light to reach Sigiriya early — climbing the 1,200 steps in the cool morning air before the crowds arrive. Along the way, view the extraordinary Sigiriya Maidens frescoes and the Mirror Wall with its ancient inscriptions. The panoramic view from the 5th-century palace summit is breathtaking in every direction.

Sigiriya Water Gardens Descend and explore the remarkable ancient hydraulic water gardens and boulder gardens at the base of the rock — an engineering marvel of the 5th century AD that still flows with water today. Visit the on-site museum for deeper historical context.
Ancient City of Polonnaruwa
Drive approximately one hour to Polonnaruwa. Hire bicycles to explore the ancient medieval capital at your own pace — gliding past the Royal Palace complex, the Quadrangle's ornate shrines, and the magnificent Gal Vihara: four colossal Buddhas carved from a single face of granite. An unforgettable afternoon.
Anuradhapura → Mihintale → Kandy
Anuradhapura Ancient City
Drive north to Sri Lanka's oldest and most sacred ancient capital. Begin at the Sri Maha Bodhi — the world's oldest documented tree, grown from a cutting of the original Bodhi tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment in 288 BC. Then explore the vast city ruins: the towering Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, the Jetavanaramaya (once the world's third-tallest structure), and the serene Thuparamaya.
Mihintale
A short drive from Anuradhapura, Mihintale is where Buddhism was first introduced to Sri Lanka in 247 BC by Mahinda, son of Emperor Ashoka of India. Climb the 1,840 granite steps to the hilltop shrines and Aradhana Gala rock for magnificent views over the surrounding plains and the Maha Stupa below at sunset.
Kandy
Arrive in Kandy and check in to your hotel. In the evening, attend a traditional Kandyan cultural dance performance (5–6 PM) — an electrifying show of fire dancing, acrobatics, and ancient costumed ritual before the evening puja ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth.

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
Visit Sri Lanka's most sacred Buddhist site — the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) — housing a tooth of the Buddha himself. Royal Botanical Gardens
Just outside Kandy, the Royal Botanical Gardens are among the finest in Asia — 147 acres of magnificent specimen trees, orchid collections, bamboo groves, and the iconic giant Java fig tree. A peaceful and beautiful conclusion to the cultural journey.
Kandy Lake

5.00Brilliant service from start to finish, we hit the jackpot getting Sajee as our driver who was so attentive and professional. Without him our experience of Sri Lanka would have been very different and I fear that we wouldn’t have had half the experience. Hugely recommend!

5.00Our Swedish friends had previously hired Diwan Tours and Dulaj as drivers so it felt easy to contact them. Had a very nice, simple, and smooth communication before quoting when we were booking a flight plan and got confidence right away! Diwan Tours asked us about interests and age. No hidden costs or other uncomfortable surprises! Diwan Tours followed up and wrote “how’s it going?” On the way. Our driver, Dulaj is a skilled, safe, secure and punctual driver! As a person, he may be a bit timid who does not want to take up too much space but is a warm, kind, caring and respectful person! Diwan Tours picked us up at the airport and drove us down 2 hours to Hikkaduwa and then we met again 10 days later, felt very safe! Can warmly recommend!

We were assigned Dulaj a very supportive, kind and professional driver who made sure our plans and itinerary are up to expectations. We really recommend Diwan Tours if you are traveling to Srilanka and want to save time traveling between cities/attractions.

5.00The organization of Diwan Tours was flawless and very reliable. We had a complicated situation where my son arrived a few days later than us, directly to the rainforest late at night. The team handled this perfectly, arranging his separate transfer safely and smoothly. It gave us great peace of mind. Separate thanks to our driver Hima! 🙏 He is such a warm, genuine person, always greeting us with a pleasant smile. He was punctual every single morning. The car was always spotless, freshly cleaned, and ready for the new day. We especially valued his driving skills. Unlike many other drivers here who rush, Hima does not speed. He drives safely and calmly, with great respect for the environment and his passengers. We had an amazing trip through Sri Lanka 👌

Traveling smoothly from Colombo to Bentota, the charming streets of Galle, and on to Matara, we enjoyed the relaxing holiday we had dreamed of. 5.00We used Divan Tours for our transport across the island. We had a private car and driver for six days and we travelled from Negombo to Sigiryia, Kandy, Ella and Mirissa. We had good communication with both the company and our driver who was always on time.

5.00Dulaj is a quiet driver, very friendly and patient. After he moved us the first time, we booked him again and again. Dulaj offers reasonable prices, is neat and on time. In short, a very nice driver. We would recommend him to anyone.
