This waterfall is surrounded by green tropical jungles, where you can head down to the water, or simply take in the beautiful view from the viewing platform.
Elephant Cave
Although the exact origins of the cave are uncertain, it is believed to have been built as place for spiritual meditation. One folklore relates that it was created by the fingernail of the legendary giant Kebo Iwa. However, examining its style, the sanctuary was probably dated from the 11th century Bali Kingdom. The complex contains both Hindu and Buddhist imagery, as the cave contains lingam and yoni, symbol of Shiva, and the image of Ganesha, while by the river there are carved images of stupas and chattra, imagery of Buddhism. The temple is characterized by menacing faces that are carved into the stone - who's purpose is assumed to be the warding off of evil spirits. The primary figure was once thought to be an elephant, hence the nickname Elephant Cave. Other sources state that it is named after the stone statue of the Hindu God Ganesh (characterized by having the head of an elephant) located inside of the temple. This site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List.

5.00The tour was true to its description, running smoothly and professionally. Our guide and driver Putu picked us up promptly from the hotel lobby in Nusa Dua and was very accommodating to our requests, in addition to providing excellent photography services along the way. The tour presented us with many highlights of North Bali such as Tanah Lot, Ulun Danu Water Temple, waterfall, Jatiluwih rice terrace, Wanagiri hills featuring bird nests and a swing. Furthermore, a local market and other scenic panoramas were offered as a bonus. All in all, the day concluded with a great outcome, thanks to Putu's exceptional English language capabilities.
