• A memorable day and remarkable guide

  This turned out to be a real highlight of our time in Japan, and made for a very memorable experience. Our tour guide for the day was Gajender, a wonderful Indian chap with the most incredible command of English and Japanese. He was there early to meet us at Hiroshima train station, and tailored the day perfectly to fit with the time we had available. Thankfully we are relatively fit and we were able to keep up with the fast pace and Gajender's high energy, to ensure we had the best experience and saw everything possible. It was cram packed with great information and we was so lucky to have a guide with so much local, historical and research knowledge. Miyajima was wonderful and Hiroshima was very emotional. Make sure to take umbrellas. The heavy rain we had, seemed fitting. This tour comes highly recommended, and as it is private, accommodations can be made where possible. At the day's end, it felt like we had made a really good friend. If you do this tour, please request Gajender, you won't be disappointed.

  This tour was incredible, and Peace Memorial Park and museum is heavy on the heart, but important for the world to understand and never forget. Miyajima Island is a gem, nestled on the forestry hills. Enjoying a meal local to just this region was special. Our guide, Kazuko Mensing was amazing. She was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, organized, and part of the history of this area. She made this tour one of the best. Highly recommend.

  What a surreal experience this was. Our guide was outstanding and truly went above and beyond to make it a memorable day for us. Visiting Hiroshima was a genuine bucket-list experience. Being there in person makes you realize the true scale of the events that took place. What we read in history books as children or watch in documentaries can never compare to standing at the Peace Memorial and experiencing it firsthand. The city carries a deep and painful history, and there is certainly much that world leaders can learn from its past. At the same time, Hiroshima is a remarkable example of resilience—rising from the ashes to become the vibrant and thriving city it is today. Miyajima was equally beautiful, with the deer freely roaming around and the stunning scenery all around. Our guide’s knowledge, insights, and understanding of the area made the experience even more special. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

• Amazing Tour for Hiroshima

  After our cruise stops were changed due to a typhoon, we found ourselves needing to plan what to do in Hiroshima. This tour was PERFECT! It hits the highlights of the city and still shows you so much more than I even realized was there. If you happen to get so lucky to have Minori be your tour guide, YOU ARE IN FOR A TREAT!! She is the kindest and most thorough tour guide who spent the entire day being flexible and understanding when we had some of our group go back to the boat unexpectedly. She handled all the conversations in Japanese and even asked for permissions for us to skip lines and have extra room. She took us to the most AMAZING lunch place which was a local spot with DELICIOUS food!! The entire group agreed this was the best meal then entire 2 week trip. Minori was an excellent tour guide; but even more than that, she made us feel like her own family. Our day in Hiroshima was exceptional because of her. HIGHLY recommend!! And if you can request her, you are in for a REMARKABLE day. Hands down!!

  Kazuko Mensing was a very informative and attentive guide. She answered all the questions and even shared her personal family insights on the area. Hiroshima is a very complicated place for an American to tour and she and the tour made it less so. Would definitely recommend visiting just for the history. The island was also cool.

  Great tour, spent over 2 hours at the Atomic Bomb Museum and park, Harry took us to a great Ramen lunch and then another 3 hours at Miyajima Island to experience Itsukushima Shrine, both tour were amazing and so was our guide Harry

• Must Do Tour in Hiroshima

  We had a great tour with Kazuko. She worked with us to customize a tour perfect for what we wanted to see. We saw some great sites, and she was very knowledgeable about the local history, having grown up in Hiroshima. Book this tour and request Kazuko, you won’t regret it.

  

  

  

  

• Be aware: Inadequate Communication

  We were excited to take the tour. It never happened because of poor communication with tour operator and disconnect between Trip Advisor and Viator systems. The operator failed to message us for a month about where we were staying. Since I still did not hear from them, I contacted them day before the event in the message app. Again they were delayed responding to later in the day. They didn’t mention anything was wrong in the address provided. They said we would get a message in Whats App. What is not explained is that if you update information in Trip Advisor after booking, it doesn’t update a message to tour provider and the tour provider didn’t confirm number in communication. We cannot see what they see and didn’t know they had a wrong number. Since the address was odd, they went to a local hotel instead of the address. Interesting thing is we were able to find place using the same address. We tried contacting the agency at 0905 when they didn’t show where we were located, however, they failed to answer the phone or message us back. We called Viator and they couldn’t get a hold of them. After 30 minutes we still had no contact. When they did get in touch I asked to cancel. The company bothered me for information as we were touring. We tried to work it put and they would not accept any responsibility or refund the full amount. Do not waste your money. We did the same tour for 1/10th the price on our own.

• Insightful and Heartfelt Journey with Reika

  Heartfelt tour or should I say journey that took us from the tranquil grounds of Miyajima to the historic tragedy of Hiroshima. Our tour guide, Reika, was phenomenal. Her grandmother survived the atomic bomb and was recognized in the Hiroshima Memorial. We also visited Reika’s elementary school that had a special Hiroshima Memorial.
