Lake Te Anau
Te Anau is known as the Walking Capital of the World. The mountains to the left are the Kepler Mountains, home of the Kepler Track, one of the popular walking tracks in the area. Te Anau is the gateway to Milford Sound and the Fiordland National Park. The town has a permanent population of approximately 2,500 people but this fluctuates greatly in summer when the town gets an influx of fishermen, hunters, outdoor pursuit seekers and holiday makers. It’s a popular holiday destination.
Mirror Lakes Walk
Mirror Lakes, where most of the time the nearby mountains are reflected in the lakes. Being small, the lakes have less chance of being roughened by the winds compared to their larger counterparts and the large quantity of tannins leached from the soil into the waters give these lakes a much clearer mirror effect than many of the other lakes in the region. It is here you have the opportunity to walk along a boardwalk listening for Bellbirds and Tui’s which are protected native birds, whilst watching Black Scaups dive for food on the bottom of the lake between the various species of beech trees. These forests are said to be 135 million years old. We will drop you off at one end of the walkway and you can re-join the coach in 10 minutes at the far end of the board walk if you wish to go for a walk.

5.00Incredible vistas all the way! We had a friendly and experienced driver, the coach was clean and comfortable. We were lucky to have a clear, sunny day and calm water on the fjord. Highly recommend the warm buffet lunch on the cruise! We travelled with a senior family member, so the later start and easy itinerary were well suited. OveraIl I would highly recommend this tour experience

5.00Such an awesome experience. Richard was our driver and tour guide to Milford sound and back to Te Anau, such a great person I felt safe and enjoyed his commentary. The atmosphere was a bit hectic once on the boat(a lot of people) staff on the boat were so friendly and helpful. Could not fault anything! Thankyou Richard!

1.00Very poor experience on the Te Anau to Milford Sound service. I showed my booking, but the driver refused to check it and kept asking if I could see my name on his list. When I couldn’t find it, he dismissed me. I had to call customer service and was sent between two buses before he finally realized my name was on the previous page of his list. I felt stupid to spend money to get this kind of service :) Completely unnecessary stress.

5.00A really well organised tour, straight forward with no confusion with what when or how. And well done Richard, our driver, who entertained us with facts, stories and amazingly entertaining bird calls, what a driver! So glad we had Richard and so glad we chose this tour company.

5.00We broke this trip only the night before, we were stopping in Te Anua, lovely little place, picked up as planned at 10.15 right in the middle of town easy to find. Our driver was excellent, cannot remember her name, biut she is the only female driver for the company, her commentary was excellent and she was really helpful and knowledgeable. We made several stops on the way to Milford sound, great photo opportunities, then on to the cruise, just short of 2 hours, this is a must do trip, the scenery is hard to describe, it is breathtaking. We choose the buffet lunch option, again the food was very nice nice and a good variety, we would recommend this trip to anyone, had we have not done this i feel we would have missed out. Overall excellent day

5.00Wonderful day! Terrific weather! Resourceful and pleasant bus driver. Not his first rodeo…… Trip ran like clockwork. Everyone was herded like cattle to keep it within time lines.
