The tour might be longer than 4 hours since Thor Travel will go the extra mile to find the Northern Lights. We will go above and beyond to find the Northern Lights. Thor Travel has 4x4 car that can go further a way from the city lights, to places most tourist cannot go to. Therefore our Northern Light tour is unique to many other tours.

The Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis has to be one of Nature´s most fantastic phenomena. Seeing these lights dance across the polar sky is pure magic.

Finding the Northern Lights can be tricky, it´s a combination of factors, including the experience of the guide. But despite all our expertise and the use of modern technology, we sometimes just don´t get to see the Northern Lights, that´s why we call it a Northern Lights hunt.

The success is based on the weather conditions. If they are good, they will depend on your guide and where their vehicle can take you. BG was a wonderful guide. Even though we were the only ones who booked he still took us out bringing hot cocoa and twisted doughnuts (kleina). After a brief spotting he encouraged us to wait a little longer and we were treated to a beautiful display.

If you are here for the northern lights it will be up to the weather but having BG as our guide was a huge success! He hosted us with hot cocoa and Icelandic doughnuts and navigated is to his preferred spot. Sure enough…the Nordic gods were watching and we were treated with a beautiful display. BG encouraged us to wait a little longer and we experienced the most spectacular showing. Photo was from an iPhone…camera photos are even better. This is a must see and do especially with Thor Travel and their Luxury vehicle

Highly recommend! Perfect trip, confortable and very professional! The guide knew all the secret places of the area and it was great to heard all the history of it!
