5.00We did the 4 hour walking tour with our guide Mr Jay who picked us up from the hotel . And guided us to the Osaka castle and the shopping street , 307 year old shop of Osaka , the hotel equipments area and the animation shops and area . He was very helpful and patient with us . Highly recommended

2.00I purchased 4 hour private tour with local guide through Viator on May 12th. I wrote the message to the tour organizer -Kentaro Tsukada a day before stating three places I would like to visit and learn about. Those were the most popular places in Osaka: Osaka castle, Umeda sky observation building, and Shitennoji, The oldest temple in Osaka. When we met our tour guy next day, he was a very young kid name Nico, who told us that he’s been doing tours for only two months and he never done site seeing tours before, just shopping tours. He was absolutely unprepared for the tour he didn’t even know the basic information about Osaka or the sites we want to see and was more interested in chatting about life in general with us. We were constantly trying to redirect him, asking questions to provide any information about tour: the places we are heading to, but his answers were “I honestly don’t know.” Basically, he could not tell us anything about Umeda Sky observation building but when we went to Osaka castle, he pulled his iPad, google "Osaka castle" it in front of us and read us short info directly from Google. I just could not believe it!!!! At the end of the tour he told us that he got pulled last minute into this tour because someone who suppose to do it was not available. If he have said it in the beginning, I would have asked to cancel the tour or give us a different tour guide. I spent $260 on this tour for me and my friend, got zero information the only thing our tour guide new is the subway stations we need to take to get to our destinations. I asked for refund at least half of money paid, because the guide did hang 4 hours with us, but the company's (GOEN JAPAN TEAM) tour operator lied to Viator that the tour went well.

5.00Ben was an excellent and knowledgeable guide for our 4-hr tour. He built a great itinerary for us, which included key sites, but also off the beaten touristy path. He also was a great teacher of local and Japanese culture. My favorite part was our lunch in a quieter neighborhood okonomiyaki restaurant, run by a husband, wife, and son team. We were told it was the best in the galaxy, and I’m inclined to believe it! Not only that, but they were so hospitable and kind.

2.00When we read reviews of this company, they were great and we were excited to get this tour. We purchased 4-hour. I wrote the message to the tour organizer night before stating three places I would like to visit and learn about them, Osaka castle Shitennoji and Umeda sky observation building. When we met tour guy, he was a young kid, told us he has been doing this for 2 moths. He was absolutely unprepared for the tour. He did not even know a basic info such us when Osaka city was established, when Umeda building was build and who build it, what Shitennoji is representing etc. He was more interested in chatting about us, and life in general. We were constantly asking to provide some info about tour and places we are heading to. Almost every his answer was “I honestly don’t know.”, but finally, He pulled his iPad, Googled each location in front of us and just read to us really short piece of information about each stop. I just could not believe it! He was honest and told us that he got pulled last minute into this tour and never done tours like that before. That is really put a bad name on the company, who should be canceling our tour instead of proceed with basically nothing. I spent around $300, got zero information just to guide how to get places via the subway. I use Viator many times in my travels, always have a great experience. This is the first very bad one. I give this tour two stars, just because the young tour guy was very nice, and I believe it was not his fault to be thrown in such unfortunate situation. I will be asking Viator for refund.

5.00We had a great day seeing all of the key sites in Osaka. Yuta was a great guide and adapted our tour as we went along. Ate at some non-touristy Japanese eateries along the way which was a highlight. Would highly recommend.

5.00Yuto was absolutely incredible. He was extremely punctual (actually arriving 15 minutes before our scheduled meeting) and we were ready as well, so everything flowed perfectly from the start. He kindly took the time to ask what we were in the mood to do and seamlessly tailored the experience for us. We needed to shop for a few things, and he guided us to the best spots—places we would have never found on our own. What made the experience even more special was how he blended in beautiful sightseeing locations that were not crowded with tourists. It felt like we were discovering Osaka through a local’s eyes, which made everything so much more authentic and enjoyable. His restaurant recommendations were outstanding. Even though Osaka was incredibly busy, we didn’t have to wait in any lines, and the place he chose for us was absolutely amazing. Yuto is a true local who treats you like family visiting from abroad. He takes you to genuine, local spots and makes sure you feel taken care of every step of the way.
