This is a private sushi and matcha experience in a Japanese home in a quiet residential area in Hokkaido.
First, you will make pink sushi rice using vinegar naturally colored with beets.
Next, you will learn the basics of sushi making by creating a simple sushi roll.
Then, step by step, you will create a beautiful Mount Fuji sushi roll using colorful ingredients.
After the cooking experience, enjoy whisking your own matcha and relax with seasonal Japanese sweets in a cozy Japanese home.
This experience features a beautiful Mount Fuji sushi roll. If you would prefer to make a flower-shaped sushi roll instead, please let us know after your reservation is confirmed.

Join a private sushi and matcha experience in a cozy Japanese home in Hokkaido. You will be welcomed with Japanese green tea served in beautiful Japanese glassware, creating a relaxing start to your experience. First, you will make pink sushi rice using beet-colored vinegar. Then, learn the basics of sushi making by creating a simple sushi roll( hosomaki ). Next, create a beautiful Mount Fuji sushi roll step by step using colorful ingredients. This activity features the Mount Fuji sushi roll. If you would prefer to make a flower sushi roll instead, please let us know after your booking is confirmed. Please note that all participants in the same booking will make the same sushi roll design. After making sushi, enjoy a relaxing matcha experience with Japanese seasonal sweets. This is more than a cooking class-it is a chance to experience Japanese culture in a warm and friendly home atmosphere. This is a private lesson for one group only. English instruction and an English recipe are provided. You can also take photos with your handmade sushi in a traditional Japanese home setting. This experience is perfect for travelers who want to create special memories in Japan.

I thought it might be difficult, but the instructor was kind and patient, so even as a beginner I was very happy with the result. 5.00I participated in both the matcha tea ceremony experience 🍵 and the sushi roll-making experience. Although Japanese culture is something I am familiar with in everyday life, actually experiencing it firsthand made me realize how much there was still to learn. It allowed me to rediscover the beauty of Japanese culture and made for a truly fresh and enjoyable experience. Preparing matcha myself gave me a deeper appreciation for its traditions and techniques, and I had a great time learning how to make sushi rolls with helpful tips and guidance. The instructor’s explanations were clear, thorough, and easy to understand, which made the experience even more enjoyable. It became a wonderful memory, and I would definitely love to participate again! 😊

5.00I had been interested in decorative flower sushi rolls for a long time, and I was finally able to join a lesson. The beautiful home and relaxing atmosphere made me feel very comfortable. Tomoko-sensei welcomed me with her lovely smile, and the lesson started with a special feeling 🎵 The sushi-making process was explained clearly and at a gentle pace. Even when I was slow or struggled a little, she kindly waited and said, “It’s okay, it’s okay.” I was nervous when cutting the sushi roll at the end, but I got so excited when I saw the beautiful flower pattern inside! I also received the recipe, so I’d love to try making it again at home 🎵

5.00I was worried about whether I could make it beautifully, but I was amazed that it actually turned into a lovely flower shape. The sushi was delicious, too. Tomoko-sensei kindly and enjoyably taught me how to use special tools and shared many helpful tips that I had never known before. Her home is also beautiful, and the garden was lovely as well. It was such a relaxing and healing space.

I was able to make it cute, colorful and delicious ♪ The teacher prepared it for me as a beginner so that it was easy to make, and I was able to make it with fun and easy to understand and slowly taught!
