The discovery of shifting sands allows you to live a unique experience in France. Mont Saint Michel is the only place in France where you can experience this phenomenon. Each time it is a moment of joy and laughter for children and adults.
For your safety, this activity is supervised by a state-certified professional with more than 20 years of experience in this field. Throughout the activity, the guide will give advice and help people who may be in difficulty. This experience will be an extraordinary memory for young and old.

Meet your local guide at the foot of Mont Saint Michel in front of the main entrance. The meeting time depends on the tide therefore it will be communicated to you by message when confirming the activity. The service lasts approximately 1 hour on a 2 kilometer loop route around Mont Saint Michel. The tour will begin with an explanation of the phenomenon and then the guide will give a demonstration. Participants will then be asked to sink up to their knees and learn the technique to get out. People who don't want to sink in can observe the experience and take photos of their friends or children in the sand. Then at the end of the activity the guide will take you to the edge of a river to wash your legs. The tour ends as it began at the foot of Mont Saint Michel.

5.00I must confess I had my doubts, but we enjoyed an incredible experience. Stephane was a wonderful guide. He explained everything clearly and made us feel confident, and gave us the opportunity to try different levels of difficulty several times. I would do it again without hesitation!

5.00It was so much fun to learn about quicksand and then experience it. The kids loved it (7 and 10); they were the most prepared in full swimsuits. I loved it.

2.00We ended up not doing this because of communications with the tour operator before the activity. We emailed the tour operator asking for the exact time as it was not in any of the information received. The tour operator responded but, instead of simply telling us the time, asked us what time it stated in the email we received (but we did not receive an email). I then provided the tour operator with a screenshot of what we received (with no time indicated) and the operator responded to "see email previously sent." We preferred to not even do the activity than go back and forth when the operator could have simply told us the time.
