This experience combines some of Crete’s most iconic landscapes with scenic off-road exploration, panoramic coastal views, and a relaxed west coast atmosphere.
Rather than approaching Balos Lagoon through the standard route, the journey follows a 4x4 coastal track along the Gramvousa peninsula, revealing remote viewpoints and a more immersive perspective of the area while avoiding crowded access points.

Amazing Day with stunning beaches

5.00We had am amazing day thanks to Holiophilia and Jacob. We didn't have a lot of time on the island but we still wanted to enjoy the beautiful Cretan beaches so we booked the Balos and Falasarna private tour with Heliophilia. It was the best decision we made during our trip! Everything from the booking, communications, pick up and the tour itself were perfect. In the morning Jacob was perfectly on time at our hotel to pick us up with a brand new Land Rover to start our tour. He even brought us a small cretan breakfast pie, which was amazing. We then made our way to Balos to beat the morning crowd and the huge ferries. We had a relaxing drive, during which Jacob explained to us a lot of things about the island and also local stories. At Balos we enjoyed the stunning beach and had an amazing time in the water. After that he took us to an authentic Greek taverna (honestly, this place is now on my top 3 list of best restaurants in the world) where we enjoyed some incredible and real Cretan cuisine. After the lunch we drove to Falasarna Beach to indulge in another stunning beach. After we had enough of the sun, Jacob drove us back to our hotel. It really was an amazing experience and I can recommend everyone to book with Heliophilia if they want a truly fantastic and unique experience!!

5.00We had a great day with Jacob, he picked us from our hotel and we were lucky to have a private tour going with the Jeep first to Balos and then to Falassarna beach. Both places are stunning and we had the right amount of time to explore each site. He also took us to an amazing restaurant for lunch, we enjoyed the food and vibe a lot, which was an additional highlight of the tour. As a guide Jacob is easy going and gave us some interesting insights and tips about Crete, he also made sure we were comfortable throughout our journey. We fully recommend the company to anyone who wants to explore Greece as a pleasant alternative to the mass tourist tours.
