Doune Castle
Our first stop is Doune Castle for a photo of this famous little castle. Next is coffee and a snack in Callander in heart of the Loch Lomond National Park. A delightful Highland village with a history stretching back to the early picts. We continue north through Glencoe before stopping for lunch in the Lochaber area. Onto Glenfinnan and its famous railway bridge. Both the Glen and the Viaduct are a magnificent photo opportunity. We continue to Eilean Donan Castle which is the most photographed Castle in Scotland before following the bridge “Over the sea to Skye”

Isle of Skye Full day Tour
Isle of Skye
Today is spent touring the Isle of Skye. We enjoy a drive along the dramatic Trotternish Ridge with its spectacular cliffs and rock formations. Stops can include Lealt Waterfall, a wonderful waterfall and cliff formation. Kilt Rock with it’s dramatic sea cliffs and views across the ocean. The famous Old Man of Storr rock pinnacle is a sight to behold and and a walk is possible (weather permitting) The Quiraing mountain pass is literally and fairy tale landscape with epic views. Skye has many wonderful sights and views including the Fairy Glen, Staffa Beach, the Fairy Pools and Neist Point Lighthouse. After an action packed day we arrive back for dinner in the early evening.

We continue to Loch Ness with all its mystery and although sightings of “Nessie” are rare, you just never know… A boat trip on Loch Ness, from the village Fort Augustus on the shore of Loch Ness is always a great option to experience the expanse of Scotlands deepest body of water. in the afternoon we pass Loch Laggan and into the Cairngorms National Park before gradually starting to head south and Highland Perthshire awaits, Highland Perthshire was a much favoured tourist destination for the Victorian traveller and even Queen Victoria herself fell in love with Scotland in this beautiful part of our country.

5.00We had an amazing time and honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience! Scotland is absolutely beautiful and Alan our guidr made the trip even more memorable! You can tell he's incredibly knowledgeable about pretty much everything from local history and politics, to nature, folklore, and myths. Every conversation was interesting and he has a razor-sharp wit that kept us laughing throughout the trip. The car was very comfortable and the driving was excellent. We were also impressed by how seamless everything was from start to finish. The company clearly has everything down to a science. They even did all our dinner reservations, and their restaurant recommendations were spot on! If you're thinking about booking with them, do it. We came away with such wonderful memories. We're absolutely keen on going back to Scotland in the future, and we'll definitely book with them again on our next trip to Scotland.

5.00It was an absolutely tremendous experience. Niall and his staff were immensely helpful and responsive, and made the planning easy. They helped with lodging reservations, and even made dinner and distillery reservations (both dinners and Talisker were terrific). Our guide, Heather, was AMAZING! I hardly ever use all caps, but they are deserved in this case. Her extensive knowledge, wonderful storytelling, willingness to let us linger at times as needed, and friendliness were all so much appreciated. (Not to mention her patience with us.) Overall, just a great holiday for me, my wife, and three adult children and partners. An unforgettable trip.

5.00Please note, I could not select our trip to show the 3 day Outlander tour as the tour we did…. Absolutely Exceptional – A Truly First-Class Experience! This was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible short breaks I’ve ever had. A huge thank you to Scottish Guided Tours for delivering an unforgettable experience from start to finish. As a long-time Outlander fan, I discovered SGT on Facebook and was immediately drawn to their 3-day tour covering iconic filming locations across Scotland. Travelling with my Mum, I can honestly say the trip exceeded every expectation—we loved every single moment. From the very beginning, everything was handled impeccably. The booking process was seamless, communication was prompt and professional, and the accommodation they recommended was absolutely perfect—every detail felt thoughtfully curated and genuinely first class. Our guide, Heather, was simply outstanding—truly one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. We were incredibly lucky to spend three days with her. From the moment she picked us up at our hotel on Friday morning, the adventure began in style, starting with the breathtaking Midhope Castle (Lallybroch)—a real “wow” moment right away. We then explored Blackness Castle (Fort William), Culross, and Falkland, each location more magical than the last. I was completely absorbed in every second. Day two took us deeper into the Highlands, visiting Dunkeld, Craig na Dun, the Highland Folk Museum, Clava Cairns, and Culloden Moor, before a lovely overnight stay in Inverness. Day three was equally spectacular, with Loch Ness, Glencoe, and Rannoch Moor providing a stunning finale before returning to Edinburgh. Heather’s knowledge was exceptional—not just of Outlander, but of Scotland’s rich history. As a huge UK history enthusiast, I particularly loved our conversations covering everything from Edward I and Robert the Bruce to William Wallace, Mary, Queen of Scots, and James I of England. It added such depth to the experience, and I was completely in my element. She also went above and beyond in capturing our memories—taking beautiful photos and creative videos (including fun moments like “disappearing through the stones”). I still look back at them daily and smile—they’re priceless souvenirs. This trip has left me with the most wonderful memories, and I look back on it with nothing but joy and gratitude. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. A must-do for any Outlander fan—truly 5-star, first-class, and absolutely unforgettable.

5.00Our family had a wonderful private tour of the Isle of Skye. Our driver, Sandy Dear, was amazing. He entertained us with lots of interesting facts about Scotland. We had such a great day enjoying the sights, which included all the highlights we were interested in. We especially liked the Fairy Glen; however, my family agrees that it was Sandy who made the trip great!

5.00We returned from a fabulous week touring Isle of Skye and the Highlands with Michael. It was a very special trip for us celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary . Michael’s knowledge, sense of humor and understanding what we prefer was outstanding. We learned so much, enjoyed every little moment, including the fairy’s finding my brooch that everyone looked around for two days. Went to the fairy glen and of course other magical places and I decided to take one more look, lo and behold, my 45 year old brooch from Ireland was there right next to me on the floor of the car. Amazing!! Michael went out of his way to cater to our every need. I highly recommend Scottish Guided Tour. My husband said he got so much more out of it than just driving around not knowing what you’re looking at and the history behind it all. Scottish Guided Tours also helped us out when we needed a transfer from Edinburgh to St Andrews a day earlier than we planned. I left something important behind at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh. Within a few hours Michael had it and brought it with him when he picked us up. Amazing. Kudos to everyone in your company for the excellent communication, planning and fun. We didn’t want to go home. But you must leave to return and return we will! 🏴

5.00We booked two one-day tours with Scottish Guided Tours. Our guides, Heather and Sandy, were fantastic. A private tour in a car is so much better than a bus tour - we got to see everything we wanted to see, on a schedule that suited us best.

5.00My wife and I booked a private 4 day tour with Scottish Guided Tours and it exceeded our expectations on every level. Our guide Alan was a wealth of historical knowledge and geography. His deep knowledge of his homeland imbued all the places we visited with a magic that only someone who is truly passionate about his country could provide. We started in Edinburgh and made our way up to the Highlands and Loch Ness. We then traveled to the Isle of Skye and thanks to Alan were treated to truly breathtaking scenery both on and off the beaten path. We also had the pleasure of touring 2 whisky distilleries! From Skye we proceeded to the lovely Loch Lomond for a night. And finally Alan drove us through wonderful coastal roads with beautiful views of the Firth of Clyde. Alas, all good things come to an end and Alan dropped us off at the Cairnryan ferry terminal for the next leg of our journey. Great trip provided by a world class guide!

5.00We could not have had a better experience on our tour of Skye! Yes, the scenery is incomparable, the history fascinating and the natural history amazing, but what really made the day so special was Sandy's superb guiding. He was deeply knowledgeable yet so welcoming and kind. He went out of his way to show us a couple of places of special interest to us. It's rare to encounter someone so expert yet so sincere and kind. We'll never forget that day and will look for another chance to take a Scottish Guided Tour.
