  I recently had the opportunity to spend an evening with Ross from HauntedBurgh while producing a promotional video for the business, and as part of that process Ross gave me a one-to-one tour through Edinburgh’s Old Town. Having spent several hours with him, I came away genuinely impressed by both his knowledge and his passion for Edinburgh’s darker history. Ross has a natural ability to tell a story in a way that is engaging, atmospheric and entertaining, while still grounding it in the city’s fascinating past. What struck me most was how much care he puts into the experience. Even though it was a private tour for filming purposes, he delivered every story with the same energy and enthusiasm you would expect from someone leading a full group. Walking through the closes, wynds and hidden corners of the Old Town after dark created a fantastic atmosphere, and it quickly became clear why people enjoy his tours so much. As someone who has spent a lot of time in Edinburgh, I was surprised by how many stories and details I had never heard before. Ross clearly knows his subject and presents it in a way that keeps you engaged from start to finish. • Enjoyable spooky history evening

  We ended up booking this fairly last minute and were the only group on the tour. Ross was super enthusiastic and engaging and we had a great time hearing all the spooky stories. It wasn’t a ton of walking so that was appreciated (only one section with stairs I think), and we still hit quite a few interesting sites. Highly recommend for fans of the “horrible histories” series!

  Ross did a great job on this haunted Edinburgh tour through the historic Old Town district. The 9:00 PM start time was absolutely perfect, giving us the ultimate spooky atmosphere that ended in the cemetery well after dusk (about 90 minutes in total time). If you are looking for the best Edinburgh ghost tours, this is the one to book. Walking through the eerie, cobblestone closes at night gave us an incredible haunted Scotland experience. Ross brought the city's dark history to life, seamlessly blending folklore with the chilling vibes you want from an underground ghost tour in Edinburgh. It is an absolute must-do if you are looking for top things to do in Edinburgh at night. It’s also a great value. As tourists, we loved that Ross gave us useful, local insights into great spots and pubs to check out in between our stops and stories. He interacted amazingly well with our group of 5, making the experience feel incredibly personal. That said, I can easily see his energy and crowd work being just as effective in a much larger group. He even remembered specific details about each member of our group and called back to them throughout the night, which made the whole tour feel incredibly interactive and fun. Highly recommend!

  Ross was magical!! Came to Edinburgh with an EF group and this was a little optional we had, and our whole group went. He was SO funny and also SO informative :) 2 or 3 people interrupted our tour just to ask for his business card!!! Don’t miss it ❤️

  Ross was amazing! It was just my wife our 2 year old and myself and he was extremely entertaining and a great storyteller! Since it was just us he even made it less scary for our 2 year old :)

  One of our best experiences whilst in Edinburgh. A wilder more excited tour guide, you won’t meet. Fully immersed in his craft, Ross made us understand the history and ghostly past of this beautiful city. Well done and thank you Ross.
