Arusha Region

Upon your arrival at either Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), you’ll be warmly received by your safari guide. After a quick orientation, you’ll be transferred to Arusha Planet Lodge, a mid-range oasis nestled in a quiet suburb with lush gardens, a pool, and cozy bungalow-style rooms. Spend the day unwinding after your flight. Depending on your arrival time, you can opt for a short cultural tour of Arusha or enjoy dinner at a local favorite like The Blue Heron. This day sets the pace for the exciting adventure ahead.

Tarangire National Park

Today begins with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5 hours). This park is known for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and impressive predator activity. You’ll enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch under an acacia tree, keeping an eye out for lions, leopards, and over 500 bird species. In the late afternoon, continue on to Karatu, a charming town nestled in the Ngorongoro Highlands. Your overnight stay is at Tloma Lodge, a peaceful country-style lodge surrounded by coffee farms and vegetable gardens, offering warm hospitality and lovely views of the surrounding hills.

Lake Eyasi

Wake early for a fascinating cultural day at Lake Eyasi. Here you’ll meet the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer communities in Africa. Participate in a bushwalk, try your hand at traditional archery, and learn how they track game or gather wild honey. Later, visit the Datoga tribe, skilled pastoralists and blacksmiths who will share their beadwork and iron forging traditions. This is a rare glimpse into two very different ways of life, unchanged for centuries. Return to Tloma Lodge in Karatu for a well-deserved dinner and restful evening.

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, set off for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Highlands. Stop at the Ngorongoro Crater viewpoint for breathtaking photos, then continue into the endless plains of the Serengeti. You’ll enjoy game drives en route as wildlife sightings begin the moment you enter the park. Check in at Into Wild Africa Tented Camp, a mid-range mobile camp that shifts seasonally to follow the migration. Set in a quiet area with spacious canvas tents and en-suite bathrooms, it offers an authentic safari feel without compromising comfort. Enjoy an evening game drive or relax with a sundowner.

Serengeti National Park

Today is dedicated to a full-day exploration of Serengeti’s central plains, especially the Seronera Valley, famous for its large cat population. At this time of year (May–June), you'll likely witness part of the Great Wildebeest Migration as herds move toward the Western Corridor. Start with a sunrise game drive, when predators are most active, followed by a picnic breakfast or lunch in the bush. With your expert guide, track lions, cheetahs, elephants, and more across the plains. Return to Into Wild Africa Camp in the evening for a campfire dinner under the stars.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast and one last morning game drive in the Serengeti, head southeast to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Optionally stop at Olduvai Gorge, a famous archaeological site known for early human fossils. Continue your journey to the crater rim, arriving at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, a beautifully designed lodge built into the crater wall using local stone. Every room boasts breathtaking views of the crater floor below. Settle in for the night and prepare for an unforgettable wildlife experience the next day.

Ngorongoro Crater

Start your final safari day early with a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called “Africa’s Eden.” The 600-meter-deep crater floor teems with wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch by a scenic hippo pool, then ascend from the crater and begin your return drive to Arusha. Along the way, you may stop at a cultural heritage center or curio shop for souvenirs. Depending on your departure time, you’ll be dropped at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your onward flight home.
