And then there’s the Marie Walkup case. We won’t spoil it here, but it’s the story that made Susan write a whole book.
You'll also learn why Flagstaff's historic steam tunnels were sealed shut, and why no one's been truly underground since.
We’re locally owned and operated by the people who wrote the books on this town’s dark side. Co-founder Susan Johnson is the author of Wicked Flagstaff, Haunted Flagstaff, and The Walkup Family Murders.

5.00Had Steven the Heathen as our tour guide and he was clearly a gifted story teller and had a lot of connections in the area. Only downside was a heckler that was wandering the streets. Steven had a medical emergency near the end of the tour, which was unfortunately the scariest part of the tour, but even during the emergency he was very apologetic and I hope he has a speedy recovery. Would definitely recommend this to almost anyone visiting the area as you get an awesome mix of history and haunted stories.

5.00We very much enjoyed the fun and exciting and educational experience provided by our tour leader Steve. We have stayed at the Clown Motel and Mispah Hotel in Tonapah, NV, both noted as haunted, abet without any sightings. So hearing about the local places in downtown Flagstaff was exciting news. Now we want to rent room 306 at the Monta Vista and see what happens. Thanks Steve!!!

5.00We met up with Mike the tour guide exactly where and when had been arranged. Mike was very polite and courteous and knowledgeable about every location we visited. His delivery was succinct, easy to understand, and included some humor as well as warnings regarding some horrifying historical details he was about to reveal. All six members of my group were impressed by Mike and the locations and subjects of the tour!
