Changing the Guard, also known as Guard Mounting, takes place outside Buckingham Palace on certain days from 10.45am and lasts around 45 minutes, with the actual handover taking place at 11am. This free London event is very popular, so be sure to arrive early to secure a spot with a good view

3.00Our tour was advertised as 4 hours ..but we were brought back to our hotel 45 minutes early . At a cost of close to $400 , that was not ok with us . One reason we chose this tour was to see the changing of the guards as advertised ..but were told there was no access to the palace . We did eventually go there though ..we had to park and walk a bit, but that was fine with us ..so there was access -but we missed changing of the guards . Do not expect the itinerary or timing to be accurate ..at least it wasn’t for us .
