You can spend 4 hours on the site, and it will take 1 hour to go forth and back to the city from Mihintale. We are safe and know where to go without wasting your time. Our tuk tuks won't go beyond 40 km/h to ensure the safety of guests who are travelling with us. Mihintale
The Mihintale Wildlife Sanctuary, which is believed to be the first sanctuary in the world. Mihintale Mountain, with the arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, began to serve as a residential area for the venerable monks headed by Arahath Mahinda Mahathera. With the growth of the community of monks and the pious laymen, there arose the inevitable need of a hospital. The first hospital at Mihintale was founded by King Sena the second (853-887 AC) at Mihintale. The identification was based on a tenth century inscription found at the site. Today, the ruins of a hospital with its layout restored can be seen at the entrance to the site of Mihintale. 5.00Taking a tuk-tuk from Anuradhapura to Mihintale was our family’s highlight! The 30-minute breezy ride is a great prelude to the 1,840 granite steps. Don't worry—they’re wide, shaded, and manageable for kids. Peaceful and spiritual, It feels "untouched" compared to the main ruins. Wear thick socks! You must remove shoes at the top, and the sun-baked stones can sizzle your feet. Mihintale is a budget-friendly, high-reward climb that perfectly captures Sri Lanka’s soul and The view from the top is unbeatable. Highly recommended!

3.00Communication was good and the tuk tuk arrived precisely on time. However was just a tuk tak taxi to Mihintale and back with some water bottle provided. Could have spent a fraction of the price using a taxi app.
The tour was a great value for the price.
