Plantation walk is a day tour. Those who are coming to Munnar can opt for this activity. This involves a maximum1- 2 hour walk through the Tea plantation and interaction with Tea Pluckers to learn the local culture of the people. Moreover this walk is good for heath in the form of breathing pure oxygen and peace of mind. It is a new attraction introduced by Lockhart Farm Tourism in Munnar. The objective of this unique programme is to give the tea lovers all around the world the unique experience of producing their own tea from the tea plant to the cup.
The Lockhart tea factory is famous for its Orthodox Tea produced in the traditional way. The museum includes a living factory which was built in 1936 and a tea sales outlet and tea-tasting sections. The visitors are given a briefing about the origins of tea for consumption, its history & health benefits and explained about the traditional tea manufacturing processes.

5.00Very easy process and great operator here in Munnar. Hotel pick up and drop off was arranged. The tea trail is great with guide Mari who is very knowledgeable. Walk for 90-120 minutes with amazing panoramic views of munnar. Mari gave a great explanation of the tea process. Tuk tuk to the tea factory for an in depth look into tea process and finally tea tasting. Definitely recommended and appreciated the hard work of Mari our guide.

5.00We spent a beautiful morning with a jovial and expert guide. Our group of four (two from London, one Thai and a Canadian) learned about the history of tea planting at Lockhart and the various grades of rea. We learned about the life cycle of the tea plant and met several workers toting very heavy loads of fresh cut leaves. After several hours we returned to the factory for atour and again interacted with some of the workers.. we end the tour with a tasting of the various grades of tea. The Super Premium is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. I bought 4 pounds to bring back. This was one of the highlights of our trip to South India. Kudos to the operators and especially our guide
