Gandhi Ashram

Kutch Museum
Next, visit the Kutch Museum, Gujarat’s oldest museum (1877), located near Lake Hamirsar. Built in Italian style, it houses ancient inscriptions, archaeological finds, arms, and traditional crafts of the Kutch region. (Closed on Wednesdays and 2nd & 4th Saturdays).

Khapra Kodiya Caves
Next, visit the Khapra Kodiya Buddhist Caves in Junagadh, the oldest in the group, dating back to the 3rd–4th century BCE during Emperor Ashoka’s rule. These caves are simple in design, with ancient inscriptions on the walls.
Sasan Gir
Arrive at Sasan Gir, Gujarat, the only place in the world to see Asiatic lions in the wild. Located about 65 km southeast of Junagadh, it was declared a wildlife sanctuary on 18th September 1965 to protect the lions. Proceed to the hotel for check-in and overnight stay.

The hotel is at a very convenient location, everything is not far from here. The place is filled with greenery and the staff is great too. Staff members Ramdeep and Ahamed Khan under the supervision of Bhoomi were really polite and helpful. Great stay here…

We visited GIr in August and the National Park is closed during that time. We only had access to Gir Interpretation Zone, Devalia. However, we were lucky to spot quite a few leopards who posed at various point on tall trees. We also got to see a few other animals including Lions which are in the protected zone of the forest.
