Zhenis was an exceptional tour guide. I booked this overnight tour on viator (Kolsai Kaindy Lakes with Charyn Canyons). The bus they used was modern and comfortable, and the driver drove safely. Both lakes were very beautiful and the food provided was of high quality. As well, the yurt was comfortable and the beds were soft. As an American, the canyons were repetitive due to the grand canyons in Arizona but nonetheless for most others they will be extremely cool. Overall easily 5 stars among the best tours l've done. The only recommendation I would add is to add more pick up points in the future. Would be easier for the guests. It's not like the time was essential as we got to the overnight accommodations before 6pm. 3 is less than what I would expect for a city as big as Almaty.

This was the highlight of my Kazakhstan trip! The tour was really organized and they connected me to other solo travelers. Julz/ Zhuldyz was an amazing guide helping us translate to talk to local vendors.

It was amazing experience. Everything was organized well and we saw amazing beauty of Kazahstan and experienced traditional food at guest houses and staying in yurts. Our group had people from different countries so it was interesting to communicate and our tour guide Serzjan was awesome friendly local guy who told us some fun stories and helped us a lot with during trip. Definitely recommended

The Naz tour guide is 10 out of 10 (helpful) We had a really good time during these two days. Activities, sights, the yurt, the car we went with was 10 out of 10, just the food they had skimped on a little, I think, you had to take some so it would be enough for everyone, we were not satisfied with the food.

Such a great time! Serzh was an amazing guide and provided us with great history about Kazakhstan and the locations we visited. The food at the local home stays was great and the yurt we stayed in was comfy. The bus drove us most places so that we didn’t have to do extensive hiking if we did not want to.

It was such a wonderful experience! I just wish they had told me in advance how much more cash to bring!

February 17, 2026, I booked a two-day tour scheduled for May 26, 2026, with Kazakhstan Guided Tours. The booking terms were clear: payment was to be made on the bus at the start of the tour. Several months later, I received an email requesting advance payment. Because this was completely contrary to the terms under which I had booked, I assumed it was spam and ignored it. About a month before the tour, I contacted the operator and was informed that the company had indeed unilaterally changed the payment terms. To make matters worse, the tour price had also been increased by 10% after my reservation had already been confirmed. I refused to proceed with the booking. A tour operator that changes agreed terms after the fact, increases prices on confirmed reservations, and disregards commitments made to customers cannot be considered reliable. I had made my reservation more than three months in advance, expecting the company to honor the conditions under which it was sold. Instead, I was met with changing rules and higher costs. Trust is essential in the travel industry, and unfortunately this experience left me with none. I chose not to travel with this operator and would advise potential customers to carefully verify that the terms of their booking will actually be respected

The tour guide Jules (English pronounciation of her name) was phenomenal. Very well versed in English and shared a lot of interesting facts. The trip itself was well organised and on time throught. Great scenery , good food and the highlight was karoake and bonfire in the night.

We had a wonderful trip and enjoyed every moment. The places we visited were absolutely beautiful and well chosen. Our guide JAN was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience enjoyable. The driver was also very professional and kind throughout the trip. The yurt was very clean, comfortable, and honestly even better than we expected. The location was stunning and offered a truly unique experience. The food was delicious, and the team took great care of us from start to finish. Everything was well organized, and we always felt welcomed and looked after. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kazakhstan. Thank you for such a memorable experience! 😊🏔️✨

Must do if you are coming to Kazhakstan. Tour was very well organised and activity/events were very well placed time wise. Kolsai and Kaindy lakes feel surreal and out of this world. Highlight of the trip was our night stay in a beautiful green valley. Shout out to our guide Jan for making this trip memorable!
