This is a very insightful and eye-opening experience from the perspective of a knowledgeable, committed resident of the neighborhood: Sofia-Rose, a young artist invested in issues of justice & equity for BIPOC communities and society at large. Her mom owns a local business, where we purchased a silkscreen print of Sofia-Rose’s. The walking tour included showcasing several of the murals created in the immediate aftermath of George Floyd’s death, as well as more recent ones. Sofia-Rose also introduced us to other members of the community and to local businesses, which we were happy to support.
