This experience starts promptly, and you won't be able to enter the museum if you miss your tour. We suggest arriving 30 minutes early as there will be a line for the security check before you can meet your guide inside the Met.

New York Metropolitan Musesm of Art tour

1.00Not a good experience at all. We ( 2 grandparents, adult son, and granddaughters ages 11&14) left the 2.5 hr “tour” after 1/2 hour. We were told to be at the meet up spot 1/2 before the tour. We got to the Met early so that we could get lunch and use the restroom before the tour. But we couldn’t do that because our tickets were with our tour guide and the Met won’t let you in to either the cafe or the restroom without a ticket! Our tour guide arrived 10 min late and did not have a Viator badge or sign and did not wear an orange vest as we were told to expect). We had 20 min to use the restroom where we encountered long lines. 30 min into the tour we had only only seen 3 ancient statues. Very boring descriptions but we learned a great deal about our tour guides life. We couldn’t take it anymore! We had 2 hrs left before the Met closed to get a quick bite to eat and see as much as we possibly could. Beyond disappointing experience.

5.00Erika is amazing!! Her knowledge of the art at the museum was expansive, and she even provided some books and videos for more information on some of the exhibits. It was also great having insight from a native New Yorker! It felt more like a walk through a museum with a friend than a tour guide! I highly recommend Experience First Tours!

5.00So this is definitely the highlights tour and in the amount of time you have, that's all you're going to get. The Met is huge and requires more time and I would say, in order to do it justice, go in the morning. Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and willing and able to answer questions.
