️ Fort Clatsop National Memorial – Astoria, OR Just 5 miles from Astoria, Fort Clatsop marks the 1805–1806 winter camp of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Tucked into lush coastal forest, this quiet, scenic site features a reconstructed log fort based on the explorers’ own journals. Guests can walk through hollow-log cabins, explore short trails, and imagine life on the edge of discovery.
