A selection of unique courses offered at the Yomiuri Group's culture school where you can experience Japanese culture. You can choose and attend your favorite course from five different options.
The following five courses are available:
* Women's Karate Experience Course (women only)
Karate is an attractive experience in the world. You can enjoy learning techniques and rediscover your hidden power.
* Tea Ceremony Course
You can enjoy the premium “Japanese-made Matcha and the Japanese sweets. You have prepared yourself while receiving practical guidance.
* Calligraphy Course
You can enjoy the Japanese traditional art of Calligraphy from the basis step by step. At the end of the activity, you can take your work as a souvenir during your trip.
* Soap Making 【popsicle and jewel】
We use skin-friendly glycerin soap, and all ingredients are safe for use on the skin. Also, you can expert moisturizing benefits for your skin.

Please arrive at the reception desk 10 minutes before the class starts.
Children aged 10 and under need to come with their parents.
There are age limits for each lecture. (Karate: aged 5+, Tea ceremony / Making soap: aged 6+, Calligraphy: 10+)
The accompany can observe the lesson. Please be supposed to be quiet during the activity.

You can participate with casual clothing.
Making soap (popsicle and jewel): The instructor is subject to change.
Making soap (popsicle and jewel): these workshops may be held at the same time with other soap-making workshops.
Calligraphy: Please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty to the ink.
Tea ceremony: Matcha contains no allergens, but itching or other reactions may occur due to physical condition.
Tea ceremony: Tea sweets contain wheat, eggs, yam and sesame. If you have allergies, please inform us before reservations confirmed.
Karate: This activity is held only for women due to physical contact.
Karate: Video recording and Photo shooting are not allowed during Karate experience. Please follow the instructor's instructions regarding photography.
Karate: Please wear easy-to-move-in and comfortable clothing such as sportswear.
Karate: Please note that pants must be above the ankle to avoid injury, and please follow the instructor's instruction regarding your clothing.

You can choose your preferred workshop from the following 5 options. Lecture by an instructor with experience guiding international guests. ・A relaxing tea ceremony experience in the serene atmosphere of a tearoom There is an opportunity to learn Japanese hospitality and basic manners by participating in the Japanese tea ceremony. We use premium "Japanese-made Matcha" along with seasonal Japanese sweets. ・Making your own jewel-like and popsicle-like soap Choose your favorite colors and scents to make one-of-a-kind jewel-like soaps and popsicle-shaped soaps! The soaps are perfect for not only hand washing but also home decoration. ・Ladies & Girls! Enjoy Karate with 7th Dan Black Belt This activity is an introductory workshop for Karate which is a Japanese material art. By training parts of the body, it is more effective not only for self-defense but also for rejuvenation and beauty. *Due to physical contact, this class is for women only. ・Discover Authentic Japanese Calligraphy Introduction to Shodo You can experience the Japanese traditional art of Calligraphy from the basis. The instructor lectured about holding a brush, a posture and basic line.
