What a fantastic way to explore Kyoto! We did the full day tour with Rick and it was excellent. Rick was super knowledgeable and lovely and we felt safe at all times as we rode a full lap of Kyoto over the course of the day. Highly recommend.

We had a really nice day riding with Roberto: he was informative and funny and took care of us. I would recommend getting the e bike option unless you are a very strong cyclist.

We do a bike tour in nearly every city we visit, and after more than 10 bike tours around the world, this was by far the best one we've ever experienced. The route was incredible and covered so many of Kyoto's highlights that it would have been nearly impossible to see them all in a single day any other way. The combination of famous landmarks, hidden gems, and local neighborhoods gave us a much deeper appreciation for the city than we could have gotten on our own. A huge part of what made the experience exceptional was our guide, Ray. He was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and passionate about Kyoto and Japanese culture. As Americans, we especially appreciated having an American guide whose English was flawless. It allowed us to ask endless questions—not just about the sites we visited, but also about Japanese language, customs, cultural norms, and everyday life. His explanations added so much context that we would have otherwise missed. If you're visiting Kyoto and only have a limited amount of time, this tour is the perfect way to experience the city. We can't recommend it highly enough.

Today my husband and I did the full-day Kyoto Bike Tour with Rob as our guide. The experience exceeded our expectations! Rob did an excellent job explaining information about the history, legends, and other interesting details about stops at temples, shrines, restaurants, neighborhoods, etc. during the day. We also stopped for lunch and coffee during our day which was amazing! Taking this bike tour allowed us to visit some important Kyoto sites and learn about their background. Rob was attentive to the pace of the bike tour so everyone felt comfortable. We all used traditional bikes with gears but e-bikes are Avila Le if needed. Thanks for an amazing day, Rob! Worth every penny!

Rick was a great guide who answered all the questions and showed us things that you wouldn’t see on another type of tour. Besides going to the major sites, we stopped at some of the smaller ones and got good background info on them as well. Lunch was included and was top notch. I have to mention that I did enjoy learning about all the ingredients in the ramen we had. Now I can say I’ve eaten and enjoyed lotus root, for instance. So if you’re wondering whether to go or not, refer to the title of my review.
