I booked Kaushik Sir’s flower market tour expecting a quick look at a famous landmark, but I walked away with a much deeper experience. The vibrant flower market was absolutely fascinating but the real value was learning about the people behind it. We talked about the vendors' lives, migration, the river economy and how the Hooghly river acts as the city's lifeline. It never felt like a standard, tick box sightseeing tour,it was a genuine effort to understand Kolkata from several different angles. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable throughout. Kaushik Sir is punctual, patient, incredibly knowledgeable and a brilliant storyteller. I definitely left with a way richer understanding of the city than I had ever expected from a morning walk. A quick tip- Kaushik sir runs these tours along side his main businesses, so his availability is limited. Be sure to reach out and book him early!

I had a private tour of the Flower Market and the Gnats nearby. It was such a great experience! Kaushik was so knowledgeable, clear and accommodating to my time constraints. He pointed out things that I would have missed if I had gone to the market alone and went out of his way to add a few additional stops along the way. I highly recommend him!

In March 2025, I was lucky to get on a tour of Calcuta from the Calcuta Story Tour. It was a wonderful experience of a full day of immersion in the history of the city. The guide was as savvy as possible and gave the answer to any question, I travel a long time and such guides are not often found. We went through all the historical locations and loaded into the chaotic Calcuta flavor! I recommend it!
