5.00Though I was born and raised in western Mumbai, when we decided to give my teenage son, who has spent most of his life overseas, a brief, immersive experience of South Mumbai, we reached out to Khaki Tours based on recommendations, and the experience exceeded our expectations. From the initial online inquiry to quick tour scheduling, assigning our host, and planning everything, it was seamless. The highlight was the four-plus hours with our host, Swati, and the tour driver, who not only guided us through the city but also shared fascinating insights into the history and development of that part of Bombay. I believe tours like this become memorable by the people involved, their storytelling, anecdotes, and personal connections. 5.00Our walking tour of South Mumbai was a wonderful experience. Our friendly local guide, Faredoon, grew up on Colaba Island and spoke excellent English. His historical knowledge and lively storytelling brought the area to life. We enjoyed learning about the vibrant community, traditional buildings, and rich heritage of South Mumbai. The tour was both informative and enjoyable, and we would highly recommend it.

5.00Had the pleasure of doing the ‘ParsiPolis’ walk with Khaki Tours. It was one of the most enriching heritage experiences I’ve had in Mumbai. It offered deep insights into the Parsi community, their history, contribution to the city of Mumbai (and the nation!), their traditions, architecture, food, and unique way of life. The experience was elevated because of our host, Jimmy Shroff. His narration and style of storytelling were absolutely riveting- thoughtful, immersive, full of fascinating anecdotes and a handbook of photos and notes from the archives. His passion for the subject and the depth of research behind the tour was evident. Highly recommend this for anyone interested in Mumbai’s layered cultural history and the legacy of one of its most influential communities.
