Sovrano Estate Cellar Door Experience
The journey continues to Sovrano Estate, one of Kerikeri’s most distinctive cellar door experiences. Founded by the Loggia family, whose roots trace back to Sicily and northern Italy, Sovrano brings authentic Italian character to the Bay of Islands.
PhatHouse Brewing Co., Haruru Falls
Your final stop offers a completely different atmosphere. PhatHouse Brewing Co. in nearby Haruru Falls is a relaxed, welcoming brewery where every beer is brewed on-site using natural ingredients and served unfiltered, unpasteurised and preservative free.

What To Expect
Our second stop is Marsden Estate, which was started by the McIvor family some 30 years ago. Here customers can enjoy six wine tastings plus a platter lunch in the relaxed atmosphere of its courtyard which overlooks the lake and vines
The PhatHouse Brewery Bar & Kitchen
Founded in 2015, Caroline and Rob the owners are passionate about every stage of the brewing process. Their beers are made from natural ingredients, carefully crafted, unfiltered, unpasteurised, and preservative free. The brewery offers a wide range of beers from which customers can sample up to four different products of their choice.

5.00Derek was an excellent tour guide with a wealth of knowledge for the area. He was also a lovely photographer for us. The three stops for the tastings were all different. Interesting to listen to the waiter as they discussed each drink we were tasting. We enjoyed all the tastings and were able to purchase bottles to take home with us at each stop. The lunch at the winery was a cheese board to share (photo provided) which was delicious, however we thought we were getting a lunch and found this wasn't enough food with the amount of tastings. We were lucky enough to have time to buy a meal at the next stop which was the brewery, to help absorb the alcohol tastings but would recommend you do have some food prior to the tour as there is a lot of alcohol involved if you taste everything. Definitely recommend the tour and we went back and visited the brewery and Spirit places again for a meal and entertainment.

5.00The tour is very informative of importance of the area to the history of New Zealand. Both vineyards were lovely and staff were friendly. Bill was a great guide. There could have been more info provided regarding the wines on the tour. We bought a few bottles as some wines were very good. Reasonably priced and no pressure to purchase.

5.00We had a lovely day with our guide Ken. The places we visited were super friendly and in most cases generous with the wine and beer portions. There was so much choice, it was almost too much! We would highly recommend Mullarkey Tours.

4.00Had a lovely time with the group and guide. I was disappointed with the lunch offering, as there wasn’t remotely enough food to call it lunch, more like a snack. As a solo traveller it is also quite difficult to eat from sharing platters with people you don’t know, so I felt a bit uncomfortable in that regard. What food we had was delicious but definitely required more for the cost.

4.00Booking and arranging pickup and drop off was easy with Ken. We had 3 stops but unfortunately the wine and beer at the 1st stop was the same as what was on offer at the pub where we had lunch (the second stop).

5.00Great host in Bill. Super selection of vineyards and brewery, Inc Solvans, Kainui and update Brewery. Day was made my fab hosting at all venues and Bill's hospitality.
